| | Clinton Archery sinks Pearl in season-opener | | |
The Clinton Archery team was dialed in during its season opener Tuesday afternoon, opening the season with a decisive victory over Pearl.
Jacob Taylor, Will Martin, and Gracie McGahey powered the Arrows to a 3,129-2,986 win over the Pirates. Taylor led the way with a 284 followed closely by Martin's 281, while McGahey rounded out the top-scoring trio with a 272.
Clinton returns to action at the CJHS Gym, hosting Madison Central at 4:30 p.m.

The Clinton Public School District has four students who have recently had a Wish granted or hope to have granted soon.
The CHS Anchor Club is selling t-shirts to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Mississippi.

Child Find is a service required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It helps identify, locate, and evaluate children from birth through age 21 who may need early intervention or special education services. Early identification helps children get the support they need to succeed.

The Clinton Public School District is looking for teachers who are interested in joining our team.
Anyone interested in signing up for a 15-minute mini-session scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, can do so by clicking on this link.
The CPSD Teacher Fair is scheduled from 4:30pm-7:00pm at CPSD’s Central Office on Tuesday, February 17.
The two-step process includes filling out an Informational Form and signing up for a time slot through Google Calendar.
Please select only ONE appointment time slot.
**Anyone interested in signing up for an Elementary Slot and a Secondary Slot, please select ONE OF EACH for different times.**
Both the INFORMATIONAL FORM and the GOOGLE CALENDAR portion must be completed to secure the appointment.

The Board of Trustees meet on the second Tuesday of every month.

The Clinton High School Soccer programs were well represented on the postseason stage with eight players earning all-star honors this past week.
The Lady Arrows placed three players on the Central roster for the inaugural Central vs. Coast Mississippi All-Star Showcase. Goalkeeper Ellyn Burchfield, defender Taylor Robinson, and midfielder Elise Thomas were selected for the event scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, at William Carey University in Hattiesburg.
Freshman Alex Holmes and Ja'Milah Williams also earned postseason recognition, being selected to compete in the Central Mississippi All-Star Game on Wednesday, February 25, at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit.
On the men's side, Jackson Carter and Parker were named to the Central team for the Central vs. Coast Mississippi All-Star Showcase, highlighting another strong season for the Arrows program.
Freshman Colton Cox also earned postseason recognition, being selected to compete in the Central Mississippi All-Star Game on Wednesday, February 25, at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit.
The honors come as both Clinton soccer programs prepare for the postseason with playoff competition looming after the close of the regular season next week.

Bowling close out season at MHSAA Cass III State Tournament
The Clinton Bowling teams wrapped up their 2025-26 seasons Tuesday at the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class III State Tournament held at Fannin Lanes.
The Lady Arrows finished seventh overall, while the Arrow Kingpins posted a fifth-place team finish in the state-wide field. Clinton also turned in a pair of stellar individual performances as eighth-grader Evan McGloster and junior Ruby Martindale each earned sixth-place finishes individually at the tournament.
Both Clinton squads advanced to the state tournament after placing second at the MHSAA Class III Central Region Tournament on January 20.
The Lady Arrow Kingpins and the Arrow Kingpins each closed the regular season with impressive 10-1 overall records, capping another successful year for the Clinton Bowling program.

The Clinton High School Women's Basketball team picked up a critical MHSAA Region 2-7A victory Tuesday night, edging the Germantown Lady Mavericks, 31-26, at Arrow Gym.
The Lady Arrows knocked down four first-half 3-pointers to build a five-point cushion by halftime, then sealed the win by shooting 80 percent from the free-throw line over the final two quarters. The win improved Clinton's district record to 4-5, completed the regular-season sweep of Germantown, and pushed the Lady Arrows' overall record to 14-11.
The Lady Arrows return to Arrow Gym on Friday night to host Oxford for Senior Night. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. with Senior Night festivities held between the women's and men's games.

Boys soccer carries momentum into playoffs, defeat Brandon 2-0
The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team closed the regular season on a high note Tuesday night, shutting out the Brandon Bulldogs, 2-0, in a non-region contest at Arrow Field.
Clinton carries a four-game winning streak into the postseason and will host the Tupelo Golden Wave on Tuesday, February 10, at Arrow Field. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.

Clinton Cheer announces tryouts
The Clinton Cheer program announced its official tryout schedule and important deadlines for students interested in joining the 2026-2027 cheer squads on Monday, January 12.
Tryout packets will be available beginning February 2 and can be picked up at each student's school front office (Lovett, CJHS, Sumner Hill, CHS). Completed tryout forms must be turned in to the front office no later than 4 p.m. on February 20.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
