In the event of a weather emergency that could bring the need for information regarding school closures, delayed starts or early releases, the Clinton Public School District will notify the public through four outlets.

Parents/Guardians will be notified through SchoolStatus via SMS/Text Messaging as well as Email.

Emergency Notifications will be present on the CPSD Website at www.clintonpublicschool.com.

CPSD will post all emergency notifications and updates on its X (former twitter) account @ClintonSchools.

Student Essay: Shadowing the Mayor
The following was written by Shiv Patel on his time shadowing the City of Clinton's Mayor Will Purdie during the 2025 Fall Semester.
I learned a lot more about government than I anticipated. I did not realize how many problems the local government deals with everyday. Seeing all of it in person made me realize how hands-on the job really is.
It surprised me how much work goes into things people don’t even think about, like drainage or water treatment. It made me even more sure I want to pursue a career in politics and government.
In the end, it made me appreciate local government a lot more.

Clinton High School invites all 9th-11th graders and their parents to explore the class choices available during the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, February 4 from 5:00-6:30.
At 5:30, there will be an optional presentation in the Auditorium regarding Graduation Requirements.

Kindergarten is sometimes the first time a child has been separated from their mom and/or dad. As both a mother and an educator, I understand just how scary and emotional the transition can be for the children and families.
As a mama, I no longer see my students only as learners; I see them as someone’s whole world. My little boy is my whole world, and that truth has reshaped how I view every child who walks into my classroom.

My national board journey began in 2016 and I certified in Early Adolescence Math in 2018. Becoming National Board Certified was a very pivotal part of my career.
It pushed me to be a reflective and intentional educator and made me very aware of the impact my decisions in my class make on student achievement.
By going through the National Board process, it really connected so many dots for me. Certification helped me move from “I think this works,” to a “I know this works.”

Clinton Athletic's Strength and Conditioning Coach Andrew Rafferty has put the science of training into place with Arrow athletes to instill proper form in order to produce quality athletes.
His mission, however, is not only to produce healthy athletes but to prepare Clinton's students for life beyond sports.

The Clinton Public School District's Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 7:00pm on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in the Central Office Boardroom.
The Board of Trustees meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
These meetings are open to the public.

The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team delivered a composed performance on Tuesday night, securing a 3-1 decision over the Germantown Mavericks in a Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A match.
The win marked a positive response for Clinton after a district loss to Oxford on Saturday, January 10, on the road. With the win, the Arrows improved to 5-2 in Region 2-7A play and 9-4-3 overall.
The Arrows take on the region-leading Madison Central Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday in Madison.

Lady Arrows defeat Germantown
The Clinton High School Women's Soccer team dug deep to secure a pivotal Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A victory on Tuesday night.
The Lady Arrows erased an early one-goal deficit and rallied for a 2–1 win over the Germantown Lady Mavericks at Arrow Field, improving their district mark to 5–2 and their overall record to 10-3-3.
The Lady Arrows travel to Madison for a key MHSAA Region 2-7A showdown against the region-leading Madison Central Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinton edged Madison Central in the last meeting, prevailing 7-6 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.

Clinton Cheer announces tryouts
The Clinton Cheer program announced its official tryout schedule and important deadlines for students interested in joining the 2026-2027 cheer squads on Monday, January 12.
Tryout packets will be available beginning February 2 and can be picked up at each student's school front office (Lovett, CJHS, Sumner Hill, CHS). Completed tryout forms must be turned in to the front office no later than 4 p.m. on February 20.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
