| | Revving up Career Readiness | | |
Students in Eric Henson's Automotive Services I and II courses explore the necessary skills for automotive maintenance and repair.
Students can secure up to 10 Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE Certifications, throughout their time in the Automotive courses, making them qualified to enter the workforce or continue their training.
Clinton's Automotive Services program is one of many that are offered to students at Clinton High School.
| | Sloan Walker, a 5th grade student at Eastside, placed third at the Hinds County Spelling Bee on January 23rd, 2026. The bee was hosted by Jackson Public School District and held in their Board Room. 32 top spellers from schools across the Hinds County Public School District, Jackson Public School District, and Clinton Public School District competed for the top three spots. First, second, and third place spellers will advance to the virtual spelling bee in February. | | |
Child Find is a service required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It helps identify, locate, and evaluate children from birth through age 21 who may need early intervention or special education services. Early identification helps children get the support they need to succeed.

In the event of a weather emergency that could bring the need for information regarding school closures, delayed starts or early releases, the Clinton Public School District will notify the public through four outlets.
- Parents/Guardians will be notified through SchoolStatus via SMS/Text Messaging as well as Email.
- Emergency Notifications will be present on the CPSD Website at www.clintonpublicschool.com.
- CPSD will post all emergency notifications and updates on its X (former twitter) account @ClintonSchools.

The Clinton Public School District is looking for teachers who are interested in joining our team.
Anyone interested in signing up for a 15-minute mini-session scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, can do so by clicking on this link.
The CPSD Teacher Fair is scheduled from 4:30pm-7:00pm at CPSD’s Central Office on Tuesday, February 17.
The two-step process includes filling out an Informational Form and signing up for a time slot through Google Calendar.
Please select only ONE appointment time slot.
**Anyone interested in signing up for an Elementary Slot and a Secondary Slot, please select ONE OF EACH for different times.**
Both the INFORMATIONAL FORM and the GOOGLE CALENDAR portion must be completed to secure the appointment.

Clinton High School invites all 9th-11th graders and their parents to explore the class choices available during the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, February 4 from 5:00-6:30.
At 5:30, there will be an optional presentation in the Auditorium regarding Graduation Requirements.

To say that our careers have been a rollercoaster of excitement, is an understatement to be sure. Most of us have the honor of knowing what teaching looked like before ChatGPT and smartphones.
We also have the privilege of teaching in a world where nothing is out of reach for our students. However, after 26 years in education, one thing I have learned is that, as teachers, we need to adapt to the world alongside our students.

The Board of Trustees meet on the second Tuesday of every month.

The Clinton Athletics Department recognized six student-athletes for their accomplishments in competition and academics, as nominated by their respective team coaches, during the Athlete of the Month Awards ceremony on Friday, January 23, at the Clinton High School Media Center.
The Athlete of the Month Award is proudly sponsored and presented by Clinton State Farm Insurance Agent Tim Bruss, a longtime supporter of Clinton Athletics.
For November, the Clinton Arrow Football program nominated senior leader Jacob Jones, while Ellyn Burchfield (Women's Golf) and Aria Jones (Women's Basketball) were also recognized for their outstanding performances. December honorees included Carly Howell (Women's Soccer), London Mckenzie (Men's Basketball), and Bradley Wells (Men's Soccer), each celebrated for excellence on and off the field of play.

Lady Arrows roll to 7-0 in region win
The Clinton Lady Arrows dominated their final MHSAA Region 2-7A match, cruising past the Murrah Mustangs, 7-0, at Hughes Field.
The win capped the Lady Arrows' region schedule with a 8-2 overall record, improving their overall record to 13-3-3 for the season.

Boys close region play, defeat Murrah
Tim Graham delivered an all-around performance, recording a hat trick and two assists, as the Clinton Men's Soccer team rolled past the Murrah Mustangs, 7-0, in their final Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A match of the season Thursday night at Hughes Field.
The win capped the Arrows' region slate with a 7-3 record, while improving their overall record to 11-5-3 this season.

Arrow Football hold annual banquet
The Clinton Arrow Football program closed the book on its 2025 season with its annual end-of-season awards banquet held at the Clinton High School Auditorium on Sunday afternoon.
The ceremony celebrated the achievements, leadership, and character of Arrow Football players throughout the season. Additionally, the program honored the contributions of the senior class.

Clinton Cheer announces tryouts
The Clinton Cheer program announced its official tryout schedule and important deadlines for students interested in joining the 2026-2027 cheer squads on Monday, January 12.
Tryout packets will be available beginning February 2 and can be picked up at each student's school front office (Lovett, CJHS, Sumner Hill, CHS). Completed tryout forms must be turned in to the front office no later than 4 p.m. on February 20.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.

Congratulations to the Sumner Hill VIP students, Suzanne Hoffmann and Emily Fortenberry. These students achieved the highest averages of their entire class for the second quarter.
They each choose a teacher that has positively impacted their academic career. Suzanne Hoffman chose Dr. Kelly Keith and Emily Fortenberry chose Roxanna Arcement.
