| | The Case for National Board Certification | | |
My national board journey began in 2016, and I became certified in Early Adolescence Math in 2018. Becoming National Board Certified was a very pivotal part of my career.
It pushed me to be a reflective and intentional educator and made me very aware of the impact my decisions in my class make on student achievement.
Before certifying I never knew if what I was teaching was effective or not. My students would do fine on tests and quizzes but in the back of my mind I was always second guessing my decisions.
By going through the National Board process, it really connected so many dots for me. Certification helped me move from “I think this works,” to a “I know this works.”

Clinton High School invites all 9th-11th graders and their parents to explore the class choices available during the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, February 4 from 5:00-6:30.
At 5:30, there will be an optional presentation in the Auditorium regarding Graduation Requirements.

A Semester's Worth of 'Teacher Targets' | | |
The Clinton Public School District truly has some of the best teachers in the world, and our children are impacted by them on a daily basis. We can easily believe the hard work, the struggles, the triumphs, the tears, the hard times and the good times are par for the course, but that's beyond selling this place short.
It would be easy to take this place for granted, but that just doesn't seem like the Clinton Arrow way.
As we close this fall semester of the 2025-2026 school year, take the time to thank one (or more) of these educators. Their investment into our children will produce the dividends of tomorrow.

Clinton Athletic's Strength and Conditioning Coach Andrew Rafferty has put the science of training into place with Arrow athletes to instill proper form in order to produce quality athletes.
His mission, however, is not only to produce healthy athletes but to prepare Clinton's students for life beyond sports.

The Clinton Public School District's Board of Trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 7:00pm on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, in the Central Office Boardroom.
The Board of Trustees meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
These meetings are open to the public.

| | Arrow Football to celebrate seniors, season at Jan. 18 awards ceremony | | |
The Clinton Arrow Football program will host its annual awards ceremony on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Clinton High School Auditorium, beginning at 4 p.m.
The ceremony is open to all Arrow football players grades 7-12. Any 7th-, 8th-, and 9th-grade players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to attend the event.
The Arrow Touchdown Club encourages all players and parents to make every effort to attend as the program celebrates the outgoing senior class and recognizes players for their on-field performances and off-the-field character.

Lady Arrows defeat Starkville 7-0
The Clinton High School Women's Soccer team dominated the Starkville Lady Jackets in a MHSAA Region 2-7A match on Tuesday night at Yellowjacket Stadium.
Kayla Jones and Zariya Bass each recorded a brace to pace the Lady Arrows' attack, while Elise Thomas, Joelle Ambrose, and Taylor Robinson chipped in goals in the complete team effort, moving the team's region record to 4-1 and 9-2-3 overall.
The Lady Arrows turn their attention to a pivotal Region 2-7A showdown against the Oxford Lady Chargers on Friday in Oxford. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

Clinton boys shut out Starkville
The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team made an emphatic return to MHSAA Region 2-7A action on Tuesday night, collecting a dominant 5-0 victory over the Starkville at Yellowjacket Stadium.
Timothy Graham led the five-goal charge with a pair of goals highlighted by a spectacular strike from distance in the first half.
Juan Parades, Jayden Fields, and Wes Ambrose also found the back of the net as the Arrows controlled the match from start to finish.
The Arrows (8-3-3, 4-1 Region 2-7A) head back on the road Friday night to face the Oxford Chargers in Oxford. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Lady Arrows fall to Starkville in region opener
The Lady Arrow Basketball team hosted the district opener against the Starkville Lady Jackets, falling to the visitors, 57-29, on Tuesday night at Arrow Gym.
Aria Jones helped spark the offense in the first half with other key contributions from Kaydan Ellis and Angela Cavett as the Lady Arrows continued to find rhythm.
Clinton surged in the third quarter, making it their highest-scoring frame of the night, but ultimately fell to Starkville.
Clinton travels to Murrah on Friday, taking on the Lady Mustangs at 6 p.m.
| | | Arrows Basketball hosts 'Dinner with Dads' | | |
On January 5, 2026, more than 44 males dined together to mark a powerful moment
created by conversations geared toward efforts in preparing Clinton Arrows Basketball
team for a stronger finish as they enter a series of district games. Dinner with Dads was
led by a dynamic father and son duo, Robert Hampton, Jr. and Robert Hampton, III.
After the meal was served, the Honorable Kenny Lewis along with his son, Amias Lewis, served as the guest speakers. Together they shared their faith, and a message of perseverance, responsibility, and unity deeply resonated with both fathers and sons.
During their speech they lead a meaningful moment of unity, where together our Arrows made a vow to the coaching staff: "From this day forward, you can depend on me." A commitment rooted in accountability, trust, and brotherhood.
Both Judge Lewis and his son Amias are former Clinton Arrows Basketball Players. Head Coach/Assistant Athletic Director Joshua Luckett and Assistant Coach Rogerick Magee discussed current challenges and their plan to aid the team in refocusing for a stronger finish.
The Clinton Arrows Basketball Booster Club continues to carry forward our standard of excellence in supporting our youth.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
