Clinton High School seniors Haddie Heindl and Greer Vincent have been named STAR Students for the 2025-2026 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) M. B. Swayze Foundation, sponsor of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program.
Both Clinton High School seniors will be honored during the annual Education Celebration on April 9, 2026, at the Clyde Muse Center in Pearl, MS.
Each STAR Student is asked to designate a STAR Teacher, the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to the student’s scholastic achievement.
Jo Purvis was designated as STAR Teacher for Haddie Heindl and Alix Williams was designated STAR Teacher for Greer Vincent.

Fulton named finalist for MDE's Administrator of the Year
Sumner Hill principal Dr. Matt Fulton was recently named a finalist in the Mississippi Department of Education's 2026 Administrator of the Year.
Fulton represents Congressional District 2. Recipients will be announced during a program set for April 17 at the Jackson Convention Complex in Jackson, Mississippi.

McKenzie wins Statewide scholarship
London McKenzie, a senior at Clinton High School, has been named the first-place winner of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Mississippi’s 2025–2026 Voice of Democracy Scholarship Contest.
London will receive a $3,000 scholarship to support continued educational pursuits.
In addition to this achievement, London has been selected to attend the Founding Forward Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, this April.
He will also have the opportunity to earn additional scholarship funds.

Scholarships for students with intellectual disabilities
Scholarships are one resource that can help students pay for college. Students with intellectual disability (ID) can access a range of scholarships. There are numerous scholarships available, but sometimes it can be hard to find the ones that apply to your situation.
If you search for disability-specific scholarships, you will find a long list of national scholarships. To save you some time, we compiled a list of disability-specific scholarships for which students with intellectual disability are eligible to apply.

Child Find is a service required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). It helps identify, locate, and evaluate children from birth through age 21 who may need early intervention or special education services. Early identification helps children get the support they need to succeed.

The Board of Trustees meet on the second Tuesday of every month.

The Clinton High School Track and Field team continued its strong outdoor season by sweeping both team titles at the Arrow Invitational on a windy Saturday at Arrow Field.
The Lady Arrows won the girls' team competition with a team total of 253.5 points, while the Arrows won the boys' division with a team total of 251 points.
Clinton returns to action on Friday, March 27, at the Powerade Relays hosted by Hattiesburg High School.

Archery sets sights on North State MSNASP Bullseye Tournament
The Clinton Archery program will send a full contingent of qualifiers to the AIMS North State MSNASP Bullseye Tournament with both the high school and junior high teams set to compete for state tournament qualification.
The high school team takes aim on Tuesday, March 24, followed by the junior high on Wednesday, March 25, at the Mississippi State University Horse Park in Starkville. Both teams will be competing for advancement to the state archery championships in April.

Tennis dominates doubles, tops Starkville in Region 2-7A action
The Clinton High School tennis team secured an impressive 6-1 victory over the Starkville Yellowjackets in MHSAA Region 2-7A action Saturday at Starkville High School.
With the win, the Arrows improved to 2-1 in region play.
On Wednesday, March 25, the Arrows will recognize their senior class prior to their match against the Richland Rangers.

Softball opens region play with 11-10 win over Starkville
The Clinton High School Softball team won a seesaw contest over the Starkville Lady Jackets, 11-10, in the MHSAA Region 2-7A opener on Thursday night.
The Lady Arrows erupted for five runs in the bottom of the sixth, and Presleigh Burrow slammed the door shut in a bases-loaded jam in the seventh to secure the Lady Arrows' first region win.

Arrows dominate Murrah to complete region sweep
The Clinton High School Baseball team completed a Region 2-7A series sweep of the Murrah Mustangs with an 27-0 victory in game two on Friday night at historic Smith-Wills Stadium.
The Arrows broke out for 11 runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, pairing the explosive start with Parker Burrow's perfect outing on the mound and steady defense in the run-rule win.
Clinton improved to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in region action.

The Clinton High School women's and men's cross country programs will host tryouts for the 2026 season on Monday, April 6, from 4:45-5:45 p.m. at the CHS Cross Country Course, meeting by the CHS tennis courts on the tryout date.
The tryouts are open to upcoming 7th- through 12th-grade students who are interested in joining the teams. A make-up date is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, from 4:45-5:45 p.m. at the same location.

The Clinton Arrows Swim Team (CAST) has announced its tryout date for the 2026 season. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, March 28, at the Baptist Healthplex in Clinton, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
The tryout is open to students entering 7th through 12th grade. Participants must bring an updated physical, a signed parent consent form, a swimsuit, goggles, and a towel.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
