| | Clinton track-and-field sweeps at MHSAA State Class 7A Meet | | |
Excellence remained the standard for Clinton High School track and field on Saturday, May 2, as the Lady Arrows and the Arrows would not be denied as a historic 2026 postseason run culminated with a sweep of the MHSAA Class 7A State Championships at Pearl High School.
The Lady Arrows captured their 13th consecutive girls state title with 146.5 points, while the Arrows climbed back to the top of the podium in the boys meet with 92 points, securing the program's first boys title since 2024
The Clinton track and field teams now boast 17 combined state championships with 13 girls crowns and four boys titles.
The program is led by Head Girls and Boys Coach Johnathan Perkins and assisted by Christopher Lockhart, Robert Pittman, Ben Prevost, Thomas Tunberg, and Justice Wells.

On April 22, CHS Biomedical Research students presented their original research to Human A&P classes.
This year’s research focused on vaping and the effects of vape ingredients on the regeneration of planarian worms.
Research students also conducted an anonymous survey to CHS students to investigate sociological and psychological factors that may influence vaping.

The 2026 Clinton Arrow Dash sponsored by the Northside Elementary PTO is scheduled for Friday, May 8. Check-in starts at 4:30pm with fun runs scheduled for 6:00pm and 6:30pm. Awards to follow.

Clinton Public School District’s six-day Annual Residency & Registration dates are fast approaching.
All parents and guardians of new and returning students must provide residency information prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Parents and guardians can prove residency from 7:00am through 6:00pm on June 23-25, 2026, or July 7-9, 2026, in the Northside/Eastside Cafeteria at 453 Arrow Drive.
To prove residency, parents and guardians must bring a physical copy of a lease, deed, mortgage statement or homestead exemption documentation in the parent’s or guardian’s name.
Parents and guardians must also bring a physical copy of a current water bill, power bill or gas bill in the parent’s or guardian’s name dated within 45 days of proving residency. Mobile service and internet bills are not considered acceptable utilities.
Parents or guardians must provide state issued photo identification showing the physical address of where both the parent and the student reside. This address must be an address within the Clinton Public School District. No exceptions will be made.

Clinton High School athletic teams continued to show dedication not only in competition, but also inside the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year.
All 26 Clinton varsity sports teams achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and were recognized by the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) as Scholar-Athlete Teams for the 2025-26 school year.
"Our student-athletes, coaches, and teachers who are a part of Clinton athletics have done an amazing job this school year, once again," Clinton Athletics Director Judd Boswell said. "Twenty-six sports teams have met the mark set by the MHSAA for the Scholar-Athlete Team award, which is a combined team GPA of 3.0 or higher. This is a remarkable achievement and a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our Lady Arrows and Arrows on and off the field.

Softball ends season after hard-fought battle with Hernando
The Clinton High School softball team fell to the Hernando Lady Tigers, 5-3, in Game 2 of a Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) second round playoff series on Saturday, May 2, at Clinton High School. With the loss, the Lady Arrows dropped the series' after Hernando also won Game 1, 12-2, on Thursday, April 30, in Hernando.
Clinton concluded the 2026 season with a 17-14 overall record. The Lady Arrows also posted an 8-2 mark in Region 2-7A play, finishing second in the league standings.

Tryout dates announced for multiple programs
Several programs in the Clinton Arrow Athletics have announced upcoming tryout dates for the 2026-27 school year, including women's soccer, softball, tennis, and CJHS volleyball.
All prospective student-athletes must have a current physical and completed parent consent form to participate in any tryout sessions.

The Clinton Arrows baseball program has announced tryout dates for the upcoming season with sessions scheduled for late May at Arrow Baseball Field.
Tryouts will be split by grade level, offering opportunities for both junior high and high school athletes to showcase their skills for the coaching staff.
Rising 7th- and 8th-graders will participate in a two-day tryout on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28. The first session will run from 5-7 p.m., followed by a second session the next day from 5-6 p.m.
Rising 9th- through 12th-graders will hold their tryout on May 28 at 6:30 p.m.
All tryouts will take place at Arrow Baseball Field on the campus of Clinton High School, located at 401 Arrow Drive in Clinton.
Participants must have a current physical and a completed parental consent form on file prior to participating. Those interested in trying out can complete the sign-up process by scanning the QR code provided on the official announcement graphic or click on the button below.

The Clinton Athletics Department would like to remind fans of important Arrow Field and Clinton Public School District (CPSD) athletic facility guidelines.
These policies apply to all athletic facilities operated by CPSD, including Arrow Field, the Clinton High School and CJHS gyms, Arrow Baseball Field, Arrow Tennis Courts, and Lady Arrow Softball Field.
Facility Guidelines:
- Students will not be allowed to bring backpacks in the stadium, gymnasium, or fields.
- Adults may bring necessary bags such as diaper bags and other necessary bags
- Children and students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by a parent or adult to enter the facility.
- Adults supervising students are responsible for student behavior during the event.
- Anyone failing to follow these facilities guidelines will be asked to leave the game and premises.
Let's continue to make Arrow Field and all CPSD athletic facilities a safe and family-friendly environment for all fans.
