Turning Back the Clock to Celebrate 50th Day of School

Monday may have been the first day back after our Fall Break and Fall ArrowSession, but it also happened to be the 50th Day of School, and we were on cloud nine!

Those Cool Cats and Kittens at Clinton Park celebrated with a little help from Mr. Pete Tyre and his '57 Chevy Bel Air.

State Superintendent Advisory Council

Six seniors from Clinton High School are serving on the State Superintendent's Student Advisory Council for the 2025-2026 school year and met at the Mississippi State Capitol on Tuesday, October 14.

Those students are (pictured left to right) Hanna Webb, Shruti Singh, Taijha Hackett, Madison Barnett, Carley Williams and Owen Coker.

Clinton Cadets visit Coast Guard bases

Over the Fall Break, Cadets in Clinton High School’s Coast Guard JROTC program went on an orientation trip to New Orleans to gain more knowledge of the Coast Guard units and operations as well as build camaraderie within the corps of cadets.

The cadets visited multiple bases including Coast Guard Station New Orleans, Sector New Orleans, Air Station New Orleans and MSST New Orleans where cadets observed firsthand the dedication and importance of law enforcement, maritime safety and rescue missions.

As an added bonus, the casts enjoyed a well-earned morale event at Dave & Buster’s, boding over games and good food.

I'm a Teacher, but I'm a Parent Too

By Kenya Rafferty

September 23, 2025

As a parent of children in school, my perspective has shifted on a number of things. I’ve started prioritizing some things to enhance their learning experience to be more like what I would want it to be for my own children.

Being a parent changes everything. Finitely considering how my children are educated changes even more. The goal is to be ever flexible, ever growing, ever seeking new ways to engage the students of this generation with love, grace, and boundaries.

More "Teacher Targets"

The Clinton Public School District has a tremendous staff of educators that possess an immense amount of knowledge through research and experience.

Lady Arrows Golf punches state tournament ticket

The Clinton High School Women's Golf team knew it was a tall task in its efforts to qualify for the state tournament.

Under new qualifying standards set by the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) this season, the Lady Arrows showed determination and composure as they punched their state-tournament ticket on Tuesday.

Clinton finished in third place on the team leader board and were led by Ellyn Burchfield's score of 84 strokes at the MHSAA Class 2-7A Region tournament at Deerfield Golf Course. All four Clinton golfers -- Harper Davis, Laney Mitchell, Kasey Pigg, and Burchfield -- finished in the top 13 of the individual leader board.

The Clinton Junior High School Boys Cross Country team executed those strategies in the 3000m race at the MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

The Arrows grabbed three top-10 spots and outpaced their second-place opponent, Madison, by 21 points to win the invitational's large-school division's state title at Choctaw Trails. It was the seventh-ever MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Invitational.

Arrows grab season's first district win

The Clinton High School Football team imposed its will on both sides of the football in its Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A opener against the Murrah Mustangs on Thursday night (Oct. 9).

Three Arrow running backs contributed touchdowns, Clinton quarterback Jayden Jones accounted for 176 offensive yards, and the defensive unit pitched a stingy shut out, forcing three turnovers, as Clinton (4-2, 1-0 Region 2-7A) defeated the Mustangs (1-6, 0-1 Region 2-7A), 35-0, at South Jackson Field. It was the Arrows' ninth straight win over Murrah and the first meeting since 2022.

Clinton started its MHSAA Region 2-7A campaign with a 1-0 record, just as it did last year. The Arrows continue its road trip with a visit to district foe Starkville High School this upcoming Friday, Oct. 17. The game is set for a 7 p.m. kick off.
