Scouts BSA Break out:
Virtual Troop Meeting- Best Practices

Coronavirus
I hope that you are all safe and healthy during these uncertain times. Please be safe and do not take any unnecessary risks. Scouting will continue but safety should be our number one concern! All District and Council events have been cancelled through April 30th. That does not mean that Scouting has to stop. In fact, this is a time to show the world the great things that Scouters do every day!! This means moving normal meetings to virtual meetings. Working on Merit Badges and requirements remotely and spreading the spirit of Scouting through social media. Check out THIS statement by our national office with the most up-to-date information.
Website Update
Send us your unit's website! This can include Facebook if that is the best platform for your unit.

Send your website information to our Webmaster Jim Arndt at jcarndt@verizon.net and he will put it on our District Website.

#ScoutingAtHomeBAC
One way you can promote scouting is by joining our "30 Day Photo Challenge." Every Day in April will have a different theme. We are challeneging YOU to post a picture on your personal social media using the theme of the day and what it means to you. Don't forget to use the hashtag #ScoutingAtHomeBAC
Pledge of Allegiance
Going along with the 30 day challenge is our daily Pledge of Allegiance. Each morning Monday through Friday we will highlight a Scouting Family say the Pledge of Allegiance on Facebook live and will answer the following questions:
  • Your Unit Type/Number; for example, Pack 123
  • Where your unit meets
  • How you got involved in Scouts
  • Your Favorite thing about Scouts
  • How Scouting has impacted your life
  • The Theme of the Day for the 30 Day Challenge

You can sign up HERE

Friends of Scouting
Due to the coronavirus all of our presentations have been postponed, bringing our campaign to a standstill. However, it is our duty to make sure Scouting still continues. In order to do this we need to come up with new ideas to stay sustainable. We are looking into doing virtual campaigns for individual units. If your unit is interested in participating in a virtual giving campaign please reach out to me at ssexton@baltimorebsa.org
If you are interested in giving online you can do so by clicking on the button below.
