Our inaugural conversation is Viva Voce: Art + Voting on Thursday, October 15, from 5:30 – 6:30 pmvia Zoom. This conversation will be led by artists and activists who are focusing their creative energies to get out the vote for the 2020 election. These artists, through billboards, town halls, youth-driven field guides, yard signs, posters and more, are doing what they can to change the political landscape by inspiring others to get involved.
Give A Minute Cincinnati is a digital space where Greater Cincinnati community members can share creative knowledge with one another in the form of one-minute videos. GAMC will share these one-minute videos with the Greater Cincinnati community and beyond via Give a Minute Cincinnati’s website, on YouTube, and on Instagram. These shared videos will aim to spark creativity and will become a resource where Greater Cincinnati community members can learn from and share knowledge with their neighbors.
In partnership with ArtWorks, Give A Minute Cincinnati will provide open studio space equipped with filming & lighting equipment, general supplies, and assistance available to all participants upon request. Submissions will be accepted through October 23.
GAMC’s mission is to promote connectedness by bringing members of the Greater Cincinnati community together in an accessible way.
The art is going to blow the ROOF off this house party! Your favorite local artists are creating original artwork—and we’re keeping the lid on who made what. You’ll get the chance to bid on your favorite pieces in the week-long online Everything But The House auction. Then in Secret ArtWorks style, the artist identities will be revealed during our virtual event on Nov. 20!
The virtual event will feature a cocktail demonstration by HomeMakers Bar, a DJ spinning your favorites, and celebrity guest experiences. Guests will also enjoy take-home Party Packs including cans of Rhinegeist beer, meal kits from Jeff Thomas Catering or eat well celebrations and feasts, original art pieces from the Secret ArtWorks vault, and more!
Organizations across the country are stepping into action for artists. Several have compiled resource lists for emergency relief funds, grants, educational webinars, legal advice and more. See some of our favorites below:
The Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) is offering paid internships for the first- time ever. They are particularly interested in applications from candidates whose identities are currently under-represented in museum careers – including those whose circumstances may have prevented them from applying for an unpaid internship in the past. Learn about the internship opportunities here.
