Smithsonian: Earth Optimism Winter Camp (FREE, limited to 6 campers) is an in-person opportunity for teens (age 13 to 18). Teens will create a documentary to be entered into a global competition. Learn more about the program & sign up now!

Virtual Winter Art Camp is now only $25 per person ($20 for IMAS members) so register for your kit and virtual camp experience today!
Explore art from different periods of history, from ancient art to modern art. The camp kit includes supplies for 12 hands-on art projects and an art history journal.

Each camp day includes three painting, drawing or mixed-media art activities, and then a virtual afternoon session with IMAS camp staff. The campers create the art projects on their own and then we all come together during the virtual session!

Recommended for 3rd-6th graders. Registration required, limited supply.

Kit pickup via curbside at the museum is Wednesday, December 23 from 2-5 PM and Saturday, December 26 from 10 AM - 1 PM and 2-5 PM.

Join IMAS educators and peers for an afternoon of novel, exciting hands-on art and science experiences!

Jan 12, 1:00PM | 1st & 2nd graders will play with different fabrics and patterns as you design your own mini quilt.

Jan 12, 2:00PM | 3rd – 5th graders will learn about traditional textile techniques from around the world and create your own mini loom. 

January 13, 1:00PM | Middle and high school groups will explore contemporary textile art by creating your own mixed-media piece.
