 Messages in Nature

All of us get substantial inspiration from what we observe in nature, whether it is autumn foliage reflected in the waters of a stream or pond, the naked skeleton of a sycamore in winter, a sentinel heron on the margin of a stream, spring wildflowers, or any of a myriad of other possibilities.

Bucks County Audubon Society (BCAS) would like to invite you to share your inspired work in a small format at the Society's Visitor's Center on May 17 and May 18 in conjunction with BCAS's sponsored species counting challenge called the Birdathon.

The exhibition theme, "Messages in Nature," is pretty flexible.

(1) All submitted items must be in a 5" x 7" format. Paintings will sell at the price of $50.00 each; Photographs
at the price of $25.00 each. Accepted items will include photographs and paintings in that size. Photographs
and paintings on paper should be backed with cardboard and wrapped or sleeved in cellophane.

(2) Each item must be clearly labeled on the back with the artist's name, the title of the piece, and the
medium.

(3) Each artist may submit up to four items for a single registration fee of $20.00. There is no jury, although
BCAS reserves the right to refuse items deemed
inappropriate for a family audience.

(4) BCAS will take a 40% commission on all sales and will
compensate participating artists with their share of sale
proceeds within three weeks of the close of the sale.

Made in Trenton:

Creative Entrepreneur Program

4 Openings

Made in Trenton: Creative Entrepreneur Program is a program to help artists advance to the next step in their work and aims to build bridges between the arts sector, the local community and local businesses. During the program ten artists/ arts managers come together twice a month and complete five projects in a five month time period.

Each program participant will complete three personal projects (an update to a resume or website, a call to get their work presented or funded, a creative project, etc.), one collaborative project with someone outside of the group, and a community based project with ten people in a specific community (i.e. second graders, those hard of hearing, ethnic-based, senior citizens, teens, electricians etc.).

At each session, program participants will share progress on their projects and will learn directly from arts business experts who will lead sessions on a variety of arts business topics including hiring and motivating staff, resource assessment, fundraising, relationship building, pricing, contracts and negotiation, strategic planning etc.

At the end of the five-month time frame projects will be presented at both arts and social venues as well as local businesses.

Call for Artists - The Texas Tech University School of Art

Deadline March 24: Artists can get discouraged and their art-making interrupted by practicalities like deadlines, proper studio space, available resources, technology and the biggest heartbreak of all; not enough money. What if an artist was presented with the possibility to create a work of art without these limitations? What if that artist had financial backing, equipment, materials, manpower and experienced technicians ready to take direction and create their vision? What if that artist's work wasn't limited by the fact that they live on the planet, Earth, in the year 2014 and are subjected to physical laws?
Art Without Limits: Farther Regions explores what is possible for artists when they are released from practical, economical and physical constraints. What can be accomplished without limitations of natural laws, moral codes or current technologies? Art Without Limits will give artists resources to execute their dream-projects. Artists often create work that is determined by the walls around them. Art making is often a problem that needs to be solved. We would like to solve that problem. You can create art anywhere in the Universe! Show us your gallery inside of a volcano, your sculpture on top of the Great Pyramids, float your work on top of the largest storm in the solar system or Jupiter's Great Red Spot. Unbound by the physical realities of the here and now, the sky is not your limit!
Earthbound Moon seeks proposals from around the nation for fantastically imaginative and absurdly inventive site oriented artworks to be shown at the Landmark Arts Center at Texas Tech University. You have artistic immunity; you have every resource you need. Indulge us!
The requirements of the Artist proposal are outlined simply as:
1) CV
2) Description of the artwork that can be as long or as short as the artist wishes.
3) Rendering of the theoretical artwork.
4) Return envelope with return postage
No entry fee.
Please send Proposals to: Art Without Limits c/o Carson Murdach
1627 Marion St. NW #2
Washington, DC 20001

ArtSpeaks
First Tuesdays at ARTWORKS

ArtSpeaks is a platform for artists of any discipline to present their work to fellow artists and receive feedback to move their work forward.

We are open to: visual artists, musicians, rappers, singers, poets, dancers, comedians, playwrights, etc.

There will also be opportunity to share food, talent, and resources. It's an open mic and pot luck combined!
You can bring small instruments and good food to share!

Taking place on first Tuesdays at Artworks Trenton, (across from the DMV).

We look forward to sharing talent, positive energy, good food and building the artistic community.

See you there!
