People attend a drawing class at Boston Figurative Art Center

Coming Soon: Visual Arts Studios and Classes in Union Square!

The Boston Figurative Art Center's new headquarters, opening this fall at 33 Bow Street in Union Square, will include 11 small studios for rent to artists. The studio spaces will range in size from 7' x 9' to 13' x 20' with rents ranging from $450 to $800, utilities included (A/C and heat). Five studios have windows, six are on ground level, with the remaining five a half-level up (accessed by stairs,) and there will be one half-bathroom and one full-bathroom with shower. The studios will be lockable and private, and all will have access to the common area where classes, drawing and painting sessions, and other events will take place, as well as a small gallery space that will open directly onto Bow Street. The gallery will provide studio renters an opportunity to show and sell work directly to the public. In addition, renters will be given member rates to all BFAC classes and events, and access to a very active and ambitious artistic community. You do not need to be a figurative artist to rent a space, however no kilns or equipment that could disturb with odors or noise, etc. will be permitted.

If you are interested in putting your name on a waiting list, have questions, or just want to see the studios when they are ready, please email [email protected]. To learn more about the Boston Figurative Art Center click here.
