SUSAN STEWART
NEW MIXED MEDIA WORKS

Four Winds Gallery; Suite 108
August 8 - September 3, 2016

Stewart's multifaceted oeuvre functions as a contemporary manifestation of the complex role the Native artist has held historically. Her paintings provide the most tangible evidence of this complexity in their structure and handling. These images emerge from her life experience as a member of the Crow tribe, and growing up on and off the reservation. Stewart references concepts and forms specific to her tribe, including the Crazy Mountains, Crow Beadwork colors and geometric designs.

GALLATIN ART CROSSING
RECEPTION & FUNDRAISER
The Gallat in Ar Crossing is excited to announce our Annual Reception and Fundraiser during the Art Walk on Friday, August 12, 2016. This reception will take place at the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture (North Lawn) starting at 6pm. It is open to the public and is a celebration of our community effort as a unique outdoor sculpture exhibit. Located in downtown Bozeman, Montana, the exhibit hosts a variety of artwork which will introduce viewers to many artistic approaches. Sculptures will remain downtown to be displayed for a minimum of one year. One of the goals of the Art Crossing program is to add at least one piece to the permanent collection every year. In addition to helping artists display and market their work, the Gallatin Art Crossing connects the public to an open voting opportunity through www.gallatinartcrossing.org for the selection of the People's Choice award every year.

This year, the Art Crossing is celebrating our downtown project which includes rotations and 10 new pieces. The event includes live music, food trucks, hors d'oeuvres, and GAC Artists Jim Dolan & Pete Stecher will be welding on site. For a small fee you will be able to select your choice scrap metal and have it welded into a sculpture for you to take home.

Join us for this wonderful summer event and kick off the 2016-2017 Gallatin Art Crossing Installation, and over 70 pieces on display in Downtown Bozeman.

Reception 6:00-8:00pm
