February at the Art Center!
|
|
Although February is fairly quiet, we're seeing a lot of new beginnings around us. The Spring semester for kids and adults have begun, the Gallery Shop is back to normal after the holiday show, our first juried exhibit of the year is in full swing, and we're preparing a special new holiday section in the gift shop, starting with Valentine's Day!

Have you seen the new exhibits yet?

If you haven't visited in a while, don't miss the Fly on the Wall exhibit! Over 20 artists have given us their interpretations of the theme and we will showcase their work through March 2, 2019. View an eclectic collection of paintings, photography, sculpture and more as we take on a voyeuristic twist for Fly on the Wall.

Another fabulous exhibit that's currently on display is Universe in Pieces by solo artist, Deco in the Portal Gallery! Step closer to observe the intricately cut words and pictures that, when pieced together, create large-scale, galactic images of our solar system. This show will also be up until March 2, 2019. Don't miss it!

For the last 9 years, the community has given us amazing ideas for exhibits. ALL of them have come from Los Alamos residents, frequent shoppers, volunteers, teachers and students, even the occasional visiting celebrity!
We are at that point again, where we're calling out to you for more of those ideas. Next month, we will decide on the exhibit schedule for 2020. So get those wheels turning! We can't wait to hear what your creative minds come up with!
