June 2024 Newsletter

Hi there, sun-seeking friends,

Are you feeling the heat this month? Celebrate Pride by scheduling a visit to ArtWorks' newest V² pop-up gallery exhibition and stop by the "Love Wins" Mural at Queen City Radio, created in collaboration with Cincinnati Pride. Both demonstrate the fiery spirit of our LGBTQ+ community.

Over the next few weeks, dozens and dozens of apprentices will begin igniting the city with work on new projects throughout Cincy.

If you have a burning desire to create, we have new photo and video opportunities!

We also hope you can heat things up by buying tickets for a mural tour or donating in support of our Apprentice Promise campaign.

Lastly, we want to take a moment to honor the memory of an artist ArtWorks had worked with two decades ago: James T. Hubbell. His legacy continues to inspire us and keeps our creative fires burning bright.

Let's make this our hottest summer yet!

Honoring the Legacy of James T. Hubble

[ArtWorks apprentices at Mirror Lake in Eden Park]

ArtWorks would like to express our deep appreciation for the late artist James T. Hubbell, who passed away recently (1931-2024). Hubbell's extraordinary talent and vision were instrumental in the success of the Mirror Lake project in Eden Park, which remains one of the cornerstone achievements of ArtWorks' early years.

Based near San Diego, Hubbell was renowned for his prolific and diverse body of work, including stained glass, mosaics, wrought iron, sculpture, and architecture. His art graces public spaces across the globe, enriching libraries, churches, nature preserves, parks, and many other civic landmarks. Hubbell's legacy of creativity and community initiatives will continue to inspire and resonate for generations to come.
