Still life as a genre is still very much alive, though quite transformed.

Join us as Artful Circle's Guest Lecturer Bonni Stanley leads this virtual tour of the Katonah Museum of Art’s outstanding exhibition, Still/Live. As a docent and docent trainer at both the Katonah Museum of Art (see photo below) and The Neuberger Museum Art, Bonni is eager to share her artful insights!
Discover the creative ways in which several contemporary artists in Still/Live are breaking with tradition in a variety of mediums and introducing video, animation, and even robots into this centuries-old genre. Learn about the symbolism, inspiration and creative process behind the artworks in this exhibition. Explore the manner in which many of these artists question the notion of truth through their creations. 

Debbie Wells of Artful Circle will be on hand to host Bonni's presentation. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and connect with other art-lovers throughout the lecture through our chat feature.

MORE ABOUT BONNI...
It has been a pleasure to guest lecture for our Artful Circle Gallery series and Pop-Ups. Having been raised in a family that was enthralled with the modern art world, art was always a part of my life. Throughout my childhood, I joined my grandmother, aunt and mother, on their visits to museums and galleries. In fact, I first met Franklin, as an awestruck teen on one of his gallery talks. I became a docent at the Neuberger Museum of Art as an empty nester and in 2016, I joined the Katonah Museum of Art (KMA) in Westchester, New York. At KMA, I work as a docent and docent trainer. I love sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with museum visitors.
