Akron SCORE was one of 40 local organizations to receive funding during Akron Community Foundation's recent civic affairs grant cycle. Their $10,000 grant will support mentoring programs and workshops for small-business owners on a wide range of subjects, including business plan development, asset management and strategic marketing. |

Akron Community Foundation will present the 51st Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn. Celebrate Thomas G. Knoll's lifetime of giving by attending or sponsoring the event in his honor.

Akron Art Museum one of 10 new fundholders

The Akron Art Museum recently created a $200,000 endowment fund at Akron Community Foundation to ensure it will enrich people's lives through modern and contemporary art for years to come. Other new funds established this quarter will support crisis services for victims of crime and trauma, provide scholarships for Summit County student-athletes, and bring innovative ideas from On the Table Greater Akron to life.
