Woody Lewis: Purchasing & Logistics Manager
Woody Lewis, who also holds a general contractor & FL home inspector licenses, occupies one of the most important positions at SR Construction Services for both you, as the client and internally within our company. The unique logistic manager position not only transcends the numbers but makes a direct impact in the numbers by ensuring an 'on time and on budget' successful project.
So what does Woody do? He
is responsible for all aspects of the logistics supply chain, development and optimization of site logistics solutions to meet the needs of the project.
I have ESP-N on cable so I know what you are thinking.... What does the job title even mean?
In English, when a client correctly chooses SR Construction Services as general contractor for their project, Woody is assigned to take care of purchasing deliverable items: let's use electrical fixture packages chosen by Client/Architect as an example of the numerous items involved in any project. Not only does Woody check availability, UL code compatibility, crosschecking architectural plans for errors, ensures competitive pricing from vendors and guarantees delivery scheduled
when the construction critical path calls for items to be installed by Superintendent / Project Manager.
Imagine receiving any custom fixture, having that fixture package arrive with onsite crews scheduled to perform installation only to find out they are the wrong fixtures! Delays, delays, delays costing everyone time and money.
SR Construction Services recognizes the importance of communication throughout the commercial construction process. In addition to the assigned Project Manager sending weekly emails outlining the weeks progress, photos and upcoming schedule, we also hold weekly OAC meetings (owner, architect, client) that Woody attends to keep in tune with any
'changes' in materials or scheduling that may occur. Woody will then contact vendors for availability and notify them of any changes to product and/or delivery timing.
This is just another benefit that sets SR Construction apart from the rest. We are not an Owner Operator which encompasses most of the general contractors within the state. On projects ranging from $300,000 to $10M, having a dedicated position is a must as a superintendent/project manager has enough responsibilities to handle.
