Playhouse stages riotous A Tuna Christmas

A Tuna Christmas is taking the stage at The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Children's Theater  November 18 through December 17.

The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce its exhibition, Distant Journeys: Willem Dooijewaard's Drawings of Mongolia and Bali. The exhibition will be on view from November 12, 2016 - January 22, 2017.
A personal friend of museum founders William H. Singer, Jr. and Anna Brugh Singer, the Dutch artist Willem Dooijewaard (1892-1980) helped the Singers expand their art collections through carefully chosen acquisitions.  Travelling throughout Asia, Indonesia, and North Africa in the 1920s and 1930s, Dooijewaard visited many places that were unknown to most Americans and Europeans.  This exhibition, featuring 14 large-format drawings by Dooijewaard, captures the young artist's sense of adventure as well as his fascination with the details and discoveries of exotic lands and peoples. The exhibition is organized by the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and sponsored by First United Bank & Trust.

For more information on the Museum, please phone (301) 739-5727 or visit www.wcmfa.org . Museum hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Donut Drop & Movie Night
Plan to join thousands of local citizens in downtown Hagerstown for the annual "Donut Drop" on New Year's Eve from 6-7 p.m. Immediately following the drop, The Bridge of Life will show the movie "The Secret Life of Pets" at 14 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740

Max (Louis C.K.) is a spoiled terrier who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke, a giant and unruly canine. During their walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that's bound for the pound. Luckily, a rebellious bunny named Snowball swoops in to save the doggy duo from captivity. In exchange, Snowball demands that Max and Duke join his gang of abandoned pets on a mission against the humans who've done them wrong.

The free movie starts after the Donut Drop around 7:15 p.m. with free drinks and free popcorn available in the lobby. Bring the kids! Bring the neighbors!
