Annual Community Art Show

The Washington County Arts Council’s “Annual Community Art Show: The Best Local Art of 2018” juried community art exhibit will run through December 28, 2018.
Awards sponsored by Hagerstown A & E District with support from the City of Hagerstown.
January 2019 Exhibit

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. hosts Mick Williams’ “Suitcase Filled with Light: A Colorful Watercolor Journey” for the month of January 2019. The exhibit opens with a reception to meet the artists on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5pm-7pm and will continue through January 29, 2019. Mr. Williams will again be at the gallery for an Artist Talk on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm providing another opportunity to speak with the artist and learn about his process, his techniques and the meaning behind his work .

Middletown Valley Bank  presents the Krumpe's Donut Drop to kick off the 2019 New Year in the square of Downtown Hagerstown, complete with fireworks and live music!

Join HighRock outside on the square in downtown Hagerstown for free  AC&T  coffee & hot chocolate, free soup from  Burkett's Deli  and of course, free  Krumpe's Do-Nut Shop Inc.  donuts to the first 5,000 people! 

5:00pm - Kid's Zone with games, crafts, coloring, balloons and other fun kid's activities, sponsored by  Mid-Atlantic Sprint . Look for the big, yellow Sprint flags.

5:30pm - Live performances begin by  Staff Infection  on the square.

6:00pm - Family Festivities: live music, kids activities and fun demonstrations from local businesses, free  AC&T  coffee & hot chocolate, popcorn, soup and Krumpe's Do-nuts to the first 5,000 people.

6:59pm - Happy New Year's! The Krumpe's Donut Drop begins! 

7:00pm - Fireworks and live music from Staff Infection.

We hope you'll make the Donut Drop the first stop for your New Year's Eve plans. Be sure to stop by downtown restaurants and shops that will be having specials in honor of the big event!

It's good for FREE movies, FREE popcorn & soda for you and a friend for an entire year - while you're at the Krumpe's Donut Drop! 

HERE'S HOW: Stop by any  Mid-Atlantic Sprint  location and drop off a warm clothing item to benefit  Children In Need Washington County  (or bring it to the Krumpe's Donut Drop with you). For each item donated you'll receive one chance to win the Golden Ticket! The winner will be drawn live on New Year's Eve!

The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Children's Theater invites you to celebrate the New Year at Rock 'N Roll New Year's Eve at The Playhouse, located at 44 North Potomac Street, Rear in the heart of Hagerstown's Arts and Entertainment District and City Center.

Ring in 2019 with this show featuring hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. There will be a DJ and a Dance Floor to kick off the New Year right! Preceded by Salad Bar, Dinner Buffet, Dessert. Midnight Champagne Toast. Continental Breakfast. Full Cash Bar available. Beverages and Gratuity not included in ticket price. Children under age 5 not admitted.

This celebration is ONE NIGHT ONLY on December 31! Tickets cost $60 and can be purchased at or by calling 301-739-7469.
Calling all Washington County Art Educators!
The Washington County Arts Council invites all art educators in Washington County’s public and private schools to enter work for the February 2019 exhibit. This is an invitational exhibition and all work will be accepted. Each educator can submit three works that have been completed within the last two years. Artwork may be dropped off Friday, January 25, 2019 from 11am to 5pm, Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10am to 4pm, or Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 11am to 5pm.

The Exhibit will run from January 31, 2019 through February 26, 2019. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm.
