The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!

Two Rivers String Quartet Concert present "Classic Contours"
Trinity Episcopal Church, West German Street, Shepherdstown, WV
10/05/2019
7:30pm to 9:00pm
The Friends of Music will present the first concert of their 2019-2020 season on Saturday, October 5. The concert will feature the Friends' resident small ensemble, the Two Rivers String Quartet. It will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Trinity Episcopal Church in Shepherdstown, WV. Entitled "Classic Contours," the concert will include three works: • Arvo Pärt (b. 1935) –– Fratres • Charles Gounod (1818–1893) -–– Quartet No. 3 in A minor • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) -–– Quartet No. 14 in G major Jed Gaylin, the Friends of Music's Music Director, calls the Quartet "one of the Friends' most important assets." "For this concert," he said, "these talented musicians will bring us a program that runs from mystical to rollicking and at the same time celebrates clarity of expression. The music of Arvo Pärt is imbued with a kind of spiritual minimalism that entrances in its simplicity. Gounod's quartet shifts from a similar kind of austerity through charm into playfulness. Mozart's quartet, which is a homage to his older witty friend, Haydn, is also filled with cheer and brilliance." Admission to the concert will be free for Friends of Music members. The ticket price for others will be $25 per person ($22.50 before September 23).
Tickets and memberships can be purchased on the Friends' website at www.friendswv.org or by mail (FOM, PO Box 220, Shepherdstown, WV 25443). Visa and Master Card will be accepted. Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience
Saturday, November 23, 2019 • 7:30pm

Zoso -The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience formed in 1995 to perform the most accurate and captivating Led Zeppelin live show since the real thing. For Zoso, it's much more than just being a tribute. It's about touching a golden era in music. Zoso embodies Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones in their spirit, tightly wound talent and authenticity. Each band member has been carefully selected to portray both the appearance and playing styles of their Led Zeppelin counterparts. In eighteen successful years of touring, they have perfected their art. As one of the longest tenured Zeppelin tributes, Zoso's 2400 live shows around the world, including a slot at Bonnaroo in 2003, have established them as the most traveled and successful band in the market.

Zoso's live shows are not about simply playing the right notes, they are about aura and feeling, harkening back to the unique atmosphere Led Zeppelin created. It’s in the way they play: Each band member's mastery of authentic vintage instruments coupled with spot on vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, their compelling stage persona and distinct Led Zeppelin sound, with astounding visual imagery recreates the music, magic, and mystery of a Zeppelin concert. The impact is so powerful that band members constantly hear from young rockers that they were the catalyst behind turning them into new, die-hard Zeppelin fans.

Boys & Girls Club of Washington County
presents Tim Hawkins
at The Maryland Theatre
Sunday, November 24, 2019 • 3:00pm & 7:00pm

Since giving up his job as a grocery truck driver in 2002, Tim Hawkins has been establishing himself as one of the most in-demand comedians in the country. With 300,000,000 video views online and over 100 sold-out concerts every year, his Jackwagon Crew has grown into a revolution of multi-generational proportions. But don’t take it from us...

Tim's gut-busting comedy show entertains the entire family while doubling down on the funny, a daunting task in an age where the obscene has become routine. His act is 1 part gifted + 2 parts twisted, the only certainty being his on-the-nose observations that expose the ridiculousness of daily life while marveling in its hilarity. The perils of marriage, homeschooling, and growing up in the Midwest may not exemplify the rock star life, but they make for really good punchlines.

Sure he's funny, but fans are often even more amazed at his singing voice and guitar chops. Tim's hilarious music videos have brought him viral YouTube fame with fan favorites including The Chick-fil-A Song, Yoga Pants, Aging Rockers, Things You Don’t Say to Your Wife, Cletus Take the Reel, A Homeschool Family, and The Government Can. Still, Tim is no rock star: "It's not like I have a choice. Comedy is my only life skill."

Tim reminds us that for life's many difficulties, laughter is always the best medicine – when the medication runs out. He just released his 9th comedy DVD, "Just About Enough". Tim lives in Missouri with his wife and four crud muffins.

TONY AWARD WINNER Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel Dumott Schunard in the Original Broadway Cast and the 2005 film RENT) stars in Authentic Community Theatre’s production of WEST SIDE STORY!

Young lovers are caught between prejudice and warring street gangs in one of the most important and powerful musicals of all time.

From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. Arthur Laurents' book remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The score by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim are widely regarded as among the best ever written. The world's greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre's finest accomplishments.

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
