27th Annual
New Year - New Visions
January 18 through February 23
Join us for a unique opportunity to engage directly with the esteemed artist Schroeder Cherry on January 18 and 19, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, with an insightful artist talk at 3:00 PM on both days. This is not just an event; it’s a chance to immerse yourself in the profound artistic vision of Schroeder, whose work holds significant resonance within the realm of African American art. As he unpacks the rich symbolism woven into his mixed media assemblages—such as the intriguing use of locks, frames, and sign language—you will find yourself drawn into a narrative that connects personal expression with broader cultural themes. Don’t miss out on this exclusive occasion to gain firsthand insights from Schroeder himself; be sure to reserve your spot for this enlightening artist talk!

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is conducting an Emergency Preparedness Survey for Artists/Crafts people and Arts Organizations within the 50 mile radius of the District of Columbia;-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area.
Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is running a survey on Emergency Preparedness Management for DC Artists and Crafts people to access how prepared or not; individual artists or arts organizations are for disaster. It’s important to capture data from individual artists and small arts organizations. Because while there are resources to recover from disasters, being prepared is crucial for recovery and if someone doesn’t know where to start, they can miss crucial funding opportunities.
