From 1966 to 1971 Tommy James and The Shondells released 19 consecutive chart singles. Nine of which were certified gold and three that went to number one in the country. And now, 50 years later, Mike Vale, Ron Rosman, and Ed Gray , former, original members of that great group have reunited to form "The Crystal Blue Band".
Vale, Rosman, and Gray not only recorded the litany of hits they released from 1966 on but in many cases co-wrote the songs such as Crystal Blue Persuasion, Ball Of Fire, Sugar On Sunday, She, Loved One, Cellophane Symphony and many more. This group of legends have appeared on The Ed Sullivan show (twice), Bandstand (5 times), The Dating Game, Mike Douglas, Merv Griffith, Joey Bishop and a host of others and recently were recipients of the prestigious 2017 Pittsburgh Rock Legends Award.
Their great hits have been covered by some of Rock's biggest stars like Billy Idol (Mony Mony), Joan Jett/Prince ( Crimson And Clover), Santana (Crystal Blue Persuasion), Tiffany (I Think Were Alone Now), Tom Jones (I'm Alive) and have also been featured in great motion pictures such as Expendables 2, Forest Gump, We Are Marshall, The Nannie Diaries, Zodiac, Monster, Walk On The Moon and many more.
