May 2014 Exhibit 
Two exhibits open at the Washington County Arts Council on May 2, 2014...
"Metzbower" by Rebecca Metzbower and "Floral Impressions: the Art of nature" by Mary Jo Bennet.

Opening Reception-- the Washington County Arts Council on May 2, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm

Exhibit runs through May 27, 2014.


Purchase your tickets for the Taste of the Arts Event for Thursday, April 24, 2014.

Each ticket allows you to go to 13 venues and delight all of your senses with the sights and sounds of local artists while sampling culinary treats.

Also, you can visit three galleries and receive a free giveaway item.

It is a great deal and it raises funds for the BIFSA Foundation, the Washington County Arts Council and The Maryland Theatre.

Visit all of the venues, get your passport stamped and register for prizes.

Tickets are only $20! (with a $3 mailing fee and $4 internet charge) and can be purchased at or call 301-790-2000.

Leadership Washington County hosted its ARTS AND RELIGION DAY on

April 11, 2013 at various art locations in the county. The participants explored, "What role do arts and faith based organizations have in promoting social and economic growth in Washington County?" The day concluded with a presentation at the Washington County Arts Council given by R. Benjamin Jones who helped tie the day together and shared inspiring words. Following Mr. Jones' presentation, the class enjoyed a social time at the Gallery.

Exhibition hours are: Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
