Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Children's Theater

On July 23, 2015 for ONE NIGHT ONLY, The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Children's Theater will welcome Hollywood actor Michael-Anthony Nozzi to

The Playhouse stage in Jay Presson Allen's TRU.

Winner! 1990 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding One-Person Show. Adapted from the words and works of Truman Capote, Tru takes place in the writer's New York City apartment during the week before Christmas 1975. An excerpt from Capote's infamous novel Answered Prayers has recently been published in Esquire and the author's friends, recognizing the characters as thinly veiled versions of themselves, have turned their back on the man they once considered a close confidant. Alone and hurting, Capote soothes himself with pills, alcohol, and chocolate truffles while musing about his checkered life and career.

Tickets on sale now at $39.00 each (includes salad bar, hot buffet and dessert. Cash bar available). TRU contains adult language.

TRU will be performed at The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater and Children's Theater on Thursday, July 23rd. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The theater is located at 44 North Potomac Street, Rear Entrance, Hagerstown, MD 21740. For tickets call 301-739-7469.

World War II on the Home Front Exhibit to Open

Washington County's response to the war effort during World War II reflected much of the national spirit of the day, but may have been more intense than in some communities because of the deep impact of having Fairchild Aircraft in our midst. A new exhibit about the local commitment to the war effort entitled "If We Can't Buy It, We Will Grow It" opens Saturday, July 18th at the

Miller House Museum, 135 W. Washington St., Hagerstown with many artifacts from the

permanent collection of the Washington County Historical Society.

The opening reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., and is open to the public.

The exhibit will be open during regular hours of the Miller House Museum, Wednesday through Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. It is recommended that visitors call 301-797-8782 before coming to make sure that staff or volunteers are available to conduct tours.
Group tours can be arranged by appointment.
Admission prices are: $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and students.
