About the Artist
British artist Andy Goldsworthy lives and works in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Over the past 30 years, Goldsworthy has gained a significant reputation for his use of natural materials to create artworks that reveal the poetry of their surroundings. His monumental sculptures, ephemeral installations, videos, and photographs invite us to reconsider our environments and our place within them. San Francisco is home to five of Goldsworthy’s major public projects, including the iconic Spire . The artist’s work has been commissioned, collected, and exhibited by major museums around the world, and is the subject of two critically acclaimed documentaries: Rivers and Tides and Leaning in the Wind .
