Artists interested in learning more about the "plein air style of painting" are invited to participate in a three-day workshop by acclaimed artist Erik Koeppel starting Saturday, March 18 and ending Monday, March 20, 2017.
Koeppel is the judge of the 2017 Shadows-on-the-Teche's Paint Acadiana plein air competition, which will be held during the week prior to this workshop. This workshop is intended for artists seeking to enhance their skills in painting natural scenes within the open landscape.
Koeppel has a Masters of Fine Art in Painting from the New York Academy of Art. Koeppel's detailed study of the techniques and philosophy of the Hudson River School artists has led to his leadership in a revival of these artists as instructors for modern painters. He has exhibited his work extensively in New England and major cities throughout the country including Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago.
A fee will be charged for workshop participation. The workshop is also limited to a small number of participants to increase individualized instruction for participants.
