Walters is a life-long resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who realized his talent and passion for art at an early age. At 15, he began taking art classes at night, under university professor Charles Ambrose. Upon graduation from Hattiesburg High School, he enrolled in the art program at the University of Southern Mississippi. Bobby graduated with a major in commercial art and a minor in drawing and painting. He has continued to paint throughout his life, even though his career has been in real estate. He now spends all of his free time at his studio, located deep in the woods, on the banks of Black Creek in south Mississippi. Some of Bobby's fondest memories are of field trips with Professor Ambrose and his art students to Point Cadet, on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in a borrowed yellow bus. The inspiration, and teaching of Mr. Ambrose is evident in the Bobby's coastal scenes.
