Sense of Vision
Lolita Dickinson works in various mediums and produces both realistic and abstract works of art. Having grown up near the Mobile are, her work often reflects life and subjects of the Gulf Coast and Delta regions. She also produces works of art based on her travels to Europe, Africa, and the Americas. She uses a diverse pallet to create her paintings, drawings, and pottery. Her landscapes, water scenes, and abstract works are often filled with light reminiscent of the atmospheric paintings of her favorite English painter, J.M.W. Turner.
According to Lolita: “My paintings are visual narratives. My goal is to create a story in visual form that leaves the viewer with a bit of mystery and ambiguity providing them with their own connections with the painting.”
