The Patchogue Arts Council, as arts consultant to the Patchogue Medford Library, is requesting submissions from artists interested in submitting designs for a 4’ x 4’ custom paver that will be incorporated into to patio of the newly built Medford Library!
Artists are encouraged to visit the paver art installation in the Village of Patchogue to see the last design project organized with PAC. Prior to designing their concept artists should also review paverart.com to gain a better understanding of the materials, process, and simplified design necessary. Artists should create their designs with no more than 5 colors from the available palette which can be seen here: l.ead.me/colorpalette
One artist will be chosen from the island-wide call and awarded $600 for the use of their design!
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
• Submit up to three designs by midnight on April 1, 2023.
• Artwork must be digital high-resolution files with a 300 dpi and a minimum of 16”x16”. Only digital submissions will be considered. Designs
can be created physically and then scanned.
• All files should be labeled with your name and title of work. Ex: Yourname_titleofwork.jpg
Subject line: 2023_PaverArtSubmission_YourName
• All artists must include at least one of the following:
CV/resume, bio, or an artist statement.
Submissions that do not follow ALL of the above guidelines will not be considered.
Designs will be presented to the PMLIB Board for consideration and artists will be notified via email no later than April 21, 2023 - Please do not call.
The PMLIB reserves the right to reject any or all submissions and to waive any informality in any submission, and to accept submissions which it deems most favorable to the interests of the project.
The chosen finalist will work with PAC’s Visual Arts Committee and may be required to refine their designs to the fabricator’s specifications. PMLIB, PAC & Paver Art reserve the right to make adjustments as needed to fabricate the chosen design. The artist will be consulted as
much as possible in all revisions.
Submissions will NOT be accepted from any PAC employee, staff, independent contractors paid by PAC, member of the PAC Board of Trustees or PAC Committee member.
