Michael Czarnecki

Poet and memoirist Michael Czarnecki's memoir-writing method, Palm of the Hand Memoir, was recently highlighted in the Baraboo, WI newspaper, Baraboo News Republic. Czarnecki delivered a Palm of the Hand workshop in Baraboo in 2011. Participants have continued using his method to write in workshops hosted by the library he visited. Read the article here!

Yolanda Daliz

An exhibit of work by Yolanda Daliz, "Menagerie," is now on exhibition at the Lower Link Gallery of the Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County. The collection features over 100 mixed media items. Highlighting this exhibit will be her charming and colorful "Animal Series" and "Dog Series." The artist uses a combination of materials to create her work, mostly using bright primary colors on sculpture, wood, tapestries, paper and canvas. Yolanda was also recently featured in a PBS program "Latino Americans of NY & NJ." Learn more here!

Steve Duprey

Steve Duprey has recently been chosen as Featured Artist of the Month (for January) at the online art supply outlet Blick Art Materials, the largest, oldest provider of art supplies in the United States. The international site features new artists' work each month. Duprey's work was recently exhibited at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery Clothesline Festival and can currently be seen at Monello Winery on Seneca Lake. When not painting, Steve teaches communications at Finger Lakes Community College and directs the Newark High School theatre program. He has also been a director with the Geneva Theatre Guild.

Gretchen Kai Halpert

Gretchen Kai Halpert is exhibiting at the Cumming Nature Center's Hurst Gallery, Naples, NY, with the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Finger Lakes Chapter. "Marsh Madness: Wonders of Wetlands" is on exhibit now until May 4. Halpert's watercolor is featured in the exhibit's review in the Daily Messenger.

Ivy Stevens-Gupta

Ivy's latest exhibit titled "Color Matters" at Fine Line Bistro, 404 West State Street, Ithaca, NY 14850, from January 14-March 11, 2014, is a continued exploration of the psychology of art from her graduate studies. She has explored how color affects the brain and how science and digital technology have influenced how we perceive images. When designing her artwork, Ivy chooses a cornucopia of colors and textures in highly distinctive aesthetic patterns. The result of her mixed-media, multi-layer process is a luxurious composite that is full of energy and a captivating interplay of colors.

Wynn Yarrow
WETM-TV's Community Focus recently featured the artist-in-residence program in which Wynn takes part at The Rockwell Museum of Western Art. The whole show was about the residency. Wynn can be seen in the second half of the program discussing her experience with the program. It can be viewed online at the WETM website. Wynn Yarrow is introduced at the 12:12 mark.
