LOCAL CALLS/COMPETITIONS
The Lansing Poetry Club announces the Ritzenhein Emerging Poet Award Contest. The winner of this contest receives a poetry chapbook contract with "Finishing Line Press," along with mentorship and help completing and publicizing the chapbook, a $100 award, plus royalties and other rewards. MICHIGAN CALLS
South Haven Center for the Arts announces a call to artists and artisans for their Mistletoe Market. They are seeking original handmade artwork or products. If the artist does not have an online selling platform, the center will direct viewers to their personal artist contact to inquire more about purchasing artwork directly from the artist. Northville Art House seeks entries for its juried collage art exhibition, "Shear Madness" being held Jan. 13-Feb. 6, 2021. Cash awards of $650 for 1st-4th place and honorable mention. Artists 18 and over may submit a maximum of three original collage works of art composed by arranging and gluing or otherwise affixing pieces of paper, fabric, photographs or other mixed media to a surface. Charlevoix Circle of Arts seeks entries for its juried art exhibition, "re|ART" to be held on Feb. 1-27, 2021. Cash awards will be given. Northwest Arts Center announces an open call for artists worldwide to enter work for its upcoming "Americas 2021: Paperworks Exhibition." Works in any medium, on or of paper, traditional or experimental, including photographs, qualify. All artworks must be original. Work must be ready to exhibit and completed within the last two years. ARC Gallery & Educational Foundation announces a call to artists for the 2021 exhibition "Solitude." As COVID continues to impede people's movements and interactions, how do we, as individuals, or as members of a larger, even worldwide community, process these survival confinements? ARC is searching for your creative endeavors as a reflection of your process under the current circumstances, keeping artists alone but pulling together into a community. Manifest, the international Cincinnati-based non-profit arts organization and gallery, invites visual artists to submit works of art about timing as it relates to the five themes of Who, What, Where, When and Why for their upcoming exhibition. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual, abstract or experimental of any media. Application deadlines vary depending on the individual theme chosen. Learn more.
