LOCAL CALLS/COMPETITIONS
The Lansing Poetry Club announces the Ritzenhein Emerging Poet Award Contest. The winner of this contest receives a poetry chapbook contract with "Finishing Line Press," along with mentorship and help completing and publicizing the chapbook, a $100 award, plus royalties and other rewards. MICHIGAN CALLS
The Huron Valley Council for the Arts and its partners are now accepting proposals for "Walking A Mile in Another's Shoes" art exhibit. The Unity Project is about shoes and community. They are looking for people of all ages to tell their personal story by decorating, deconstructing, painting, printing or anything else they can think of to do to a shoe. Learn more.

Northville Art House seeks entries for its juried collage art exhibition, "Shear Madness" being held Jan. 13 - Feb. 6, 2021. Cash awards of $650 for 1st-4th place and honorable mention. Artists 18 and over may submit a maximum of three original collage works of art composed by arranging and gluing or otherwise affixing pieces of paper, fabric, photographs or other mixed media to a surface. NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL CALLS
MetLife, the New York Jets and the New York Giants are pulling together to install a pair of two-story-high murals at MetLife Stadium, and they are calling on the public to design them! Inspired by the profound impact the workforce of plumbers, mechanics, warehouse workers, cooks, healthcare administrators, small business owners and more have had on our communities and on our daily lives, they want to install murals that will commemorate these men and women for years to come. Submitted designs will go before a jury and two will be chosen. A professional artist will take the winning vision and create a pair of two-story murals to be installed at MetLife Stadium. Praxis Gallery is inaugurating a triennial, small group exhibition, featuring narrative based collections of photographic art limited to six artists with four images each. The title of the show, "Anthologies," is derived from Greek, meaning “to gather, or collect.” In this precise sense, Praxis Gallery seeks to explore the manner in which photographic artists gather and organize images into collections – thereby creating meaning. Application deadline is Dec. 15, 2020.
