Arts Day at the State House, April 28

Dear Friends,

I hope you can join us again this year for Arts Day at the State House. Last year’s Arts Day welcomed over 200 attendees and featured performances, remarks by elected officials, a special keynote by Harold Steward from New England Foundation for the Arts, and a recitation by the R.I. Poetry Out Loud State Champion.

This year’s Arts Day at the State House, our second since the pandemic, promises to be even more exciting. Our focus will be on the importance of arts and culture to creating healthy and thriving individuals and communities, and in addressing the social issues we collectively face.

Your attendance and enthusiasm show how important arts and culture are in Rhode Island not just to our legislators, but to fellow members of our community. Arts Day is an opportunity for us to connect and be energized by the transformative arts and cultural work happening state wide.

Stop by the R.I. State House starting at 2:30 p.m. The speaking and performance program will be from 3-4 p.m. If you can, be sure to stay for readings of Arts Day proclamations in the House and Senate chambers starting around 4 p.m.
