Naturally all of Oldham, Northern England, wants to know what Harry, the second-best hangman in the country, has to say about it. As the news breaks, Harry’s pub is overrun with locals and reporters looking for a quote, until a visitor arrives with a darker and more mysterious agenda. From the dark, comic writer of The Banshees of Inisherin, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Cripple of Inishmaan, The Lonesome West, In Bruges, and The Pillowman.

PechaKucha, Japanese for “chit chat,” is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total) keeping presentation concise, fast-paced, and powerful. Charleston Music Hall is proud to be the official venue and producer of PechaKucha Charleston. The Music Hall, with help from collaborators Charleston Arts Festival and artist liaison Terry Fox, hopes to focus on developing a strong, interesting, and diverse presenter line up from an array of different artistic, creative, and entrepreneurial disciplines and encourage collaboration, communication, and support in Charleston’s creative community.

The production faithfully adapts four stories by author/illustrator Eric Carle: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has delighted generations of readers since it was first published in 1969 selling more than 48 million copies worldwide. JANE: Abortion and the Underground tells the true story of a Chicago group of roughly 100 women who, between 1969 and 1973, used code names and street-corner pickups to arrange as many as 11,000 illegal abortions. Born out of necessity, these young women put their own freedom at risk for others’ right to choose.
