ARTS INTEGRATION IN ACTION

National Partnerships Bring Arts Integration to Life at Perry Central School District

Arts for Learning WNY has been a proud affiliate of the National Young Audiences Arts for Learning Network for over 60 years, connecting educators and students across Western New York to best-in-class arts-integrated practices. This year, we partnered with ArtsNOW, an Atlanta-based affiliate, to provide transformative professional learning for Perry Central School District teachers in grades 7-12.

Educators explored drama and theatre strategies that strengthen academic connections, support social-emotional learning, and enhance student engagement. Through demonstration days and co-taught lessons, teachers brought creative, standards-aligned experiences to subjects ranging from Earth Science to ELA and Geometry - deepening literacy, creativity, and confidence in the classroom.

This work is part of Perry Central’s fourth year in our Whole School Partnership Program, made possible by generous support from Fund for the Arts and the Foundation for Perry’s Educational Future. es to life.

WHAT EDUCATORS ARE SAYING

"The Arts for Learning partnership has been something that I enjoyed immensely. It has allowed our students and teachers an opportunity to learn directly from professional artists about their craft and we have benefited tremendously from this opportunity. My students were so excited to learn from the Teaching Artists each week, and my educators learned new strategies they could implement into their own curriculum.

Their commitment to the arts and particularly providing exposure to the arts to students and teachers is unwavering. They have been organized, diligent, and easy to work with. This partnership allowed us to look at our curriculum in a whole new light.”

- Rebecca Belkota, Secondary Principal, Perry Junior Senio High School
