The Circle City Deacons (Ska/Rocksteady)

November 4, 2025 at 5:00 PM

The Circle City Deacons are back for a night of moving, shaking, and skankin! The Indianapolis ska veterans are returning to Lafayette to bring the soul, the rocksteady AND the ska! So be sure to bring your dancing shoes and a partner. You won’t want to miss this show!

Doors 5pm / Music 6pm / $10ADV / 21+

Since 2011, The Circle City Deacons have played with national and regional acts such as The Pinstripes, Blacklist Royals, The Toasters and Green Room Rockers, just to name a few. Musically, Craig Gorsline lays the groundwork for the band's sound with his gravely vocals laid over his smooth organ playing. Coupled with an adroit rhythm section, the melodious horns form a fantastic sound that melds past, present and future. The island sounds of Peter Tosh and Toots and the Maytals are apparent in the Deacons' tunes as are the revivalist sounds of The Slackers and The Toasters.

Mic Harrison (Superdrag, V-Roys) with Matt Woods

Mic Harrison (Superdrag, V-Roys) pays us a visit with Matt Woods Tuesday November 11th. The pair are touring together to promote Mic's new album Peach Blossom Youth!

Although he started writing songs while still in high school, Mic Harrison was truly able to formulate his interest and intent once he moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in the 1990s. It was there that he joined The V-Roys, pioneers in early Americana realms. Among its own dutiful distinctions was the fact that for a time they served as the backing band for Steve Earle. Mic later served a stint with power pop provocateurs Superdrag before embarking on a solo career courtesy of Pallbearer’s Shoes. His tenure with The High Score has been ongoing since the beginning of the new millennium and their combined input and interaction grows stronger with each new effort.

Eric Zuber, Piano

Empowered by the gift of an exceptional Steinway D concert grand from John & Janet Nine in 2015, Convocations has brought luminaries from across the genres to inspire us at the keyboard.

Now, to honor this incredible ten-year legacy, we’ve invited back the artist who helped us select this very piano—something truly special—at the Steinway factory and subsequently dedicate the instrument in a celebratory recital.

Eric Zuber, a laureate of the American Piano Awards, has earned top prizes at twelve major international competitions, and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and with top orchestras around the world.

A specialist in Romantic repertoire, Zuber will showcase his talents—and our Steinway—in a program featuring landmark works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Tchaikovsky, because great artistry deserves to be celebrated with the instrument that helped make it possible.

Chicago Farmer (Folk / Americana)

Chicago Farmer returns to People's Tuesday 11-25-25 for two sets

A Mom&Pop Production

The son of a small town farming community, Cody Diekhoff logged plenty of highway and stage time under the name Chicago Farmer before settling in the city in 2003. Profoundly inspired by fellow midwesterner John Prine, he’s a working-class folk musician to his core. His small town roots, tilled with city streets mentality, are turning heads North and South of I-80.

He writes music for “the kind of people that come to my shows. Whether in Chicago or Delavan, everyone has a story, and everyone puts in a long day and works hard the same way,” he says. “My generation may have been labeled as slackers, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t work hard - many people I know put in 50-60 hours a week and 12 hour days. That’s what keeps me playing. I don’t like anyone to be left out; my music is for everyone in big and very small towns.”

He listened to punk rock and grunge as a kid before discovering a friend’s dad playing Hank Williams, and it was a revelation. Prine and Guthrie quickly followed. The name Chicago Farmer was originally for a band, but the utilitarian life of driving alone from bar to bar, city to city - to make a direct connection to his audience and listener, took a deeper hold.
