Dolce Canto Spring Concert - "Whispers of Nature"

with special guests
Missoula Community Chorus Chamber Chorale
Dr. Ronald Wilcott, Artistic Director

When we attempt to discover our love and insight for nature through her emotions, we find water, earth, air, as well as calm, beauty, and power. Through her deprivation and destructive power, we suffer from tragedies; however, in this human-centered world, her healing power is usually utterly forgotten. If you are seeking whispers of nature, let our musical poetry speak to your heart, inspire you to reinterpret nature, revitalize your life with her magic, and encourage you to ponder how we relate to the nature in which we were born. Humanity is living in nature! Isn't it true that we, human beings, are part of nature?

We are thrilled to present this six-movement, novel-like work, "Whispers on the Prairie Wind," composed by one of the most sought-after choral composers of our time, Eriks Esenvalds, as well as a selection of choral music that explores nature and humanity with close harmonies and soaring melodies. At the same time, Missoula Community Chorus Chamber Chorale, led by Dr. Ron Wilcott, will participate in the concert and share with us their perspectives on nature and humanity.

General Admission: $18
Student: $10
Available at: Rockin Rudy's, Fact & Fiction and at the door.

Missoula Old Time Social // April 25 - 27

The Missoula Old Time Social is a three-day gathering celebrating traditional, old time music and dance. The Social features old time jams, concerts, workshops, a community square dance, and a grand cakewalk, all with the purpose of bringing people together in real time, face-to-face, to share in the experience of creating, enjoying, and dancing to homemade music. All are encouraged to participate-pick up an instrument, learn to clog, try your hand at square dancing, join in on a cakewalk. Likewise, this event is for everyone, beginners and experts alike. The Old Time Social is all about having a good time, and, well, it's a social. We hope you'll join in on the fun.

The Buffalo Play by Between the Lines Theater Co. April 26 / 7 pm / Moksha Aerial Studio

In a small town jail cell just outside Yellowstone National Park, an east coast social justice worker awaits her arraignment. Her crime? "Calfnapping." When she finds herself with a dead baby bison, its mother, and a local rancher as her cell mates, she's forced to reckon with her worldview. In The Buffalo Play wildness takes over, women and buffalos dish on sex, guts become armor, and media is an unavoidable storm. Inspired by true events, The Buffalo Play poses the question, "What kind of an idiot puts a baby bison in the back of their car?"
