Welcome

Franklin's Cultural District is a walkable area in downtown Franklin beginning around Ruggles Street and traveling through the center of town to Franklin High School. It is the area where most of Franklin's arts and culture organizations are located, and where arts and culture events happen.


It’s August already! Franklin continues to be alive with arts and culture happenings. The Cultural District Committee and the Cultural Council will host the Community Table at Franklin Farmers Market on Friday, August 5. Please stop by between 2 pm and 6 pm and say hello. All are welcome!

Cultural Wednesdays

Cultural Wednesdays is a partnership with Franklin Matters/Franklin.news that shares information about arts and culture events in Franklin's Cultural District and Beyond.


Performances and events are happening on Franklin’s Town Common, at La Cantina Winery, at 67 Degrees Brewing and more locations. The Farmers Market includes farmers, artisans, crafters, musicians, and good food. Follow the Cultural Wednesday link (below) for details on the Teen Paint Night at the Library and the inaugural meeting of A Bit of Mystery Book Club at Escape into Fiction. Mass Cultural Council Grant Opportunity


Massachusetts Cultural Council has announced two grants designed to help arts and culture organizations, and arts and culture creatives and gig workers in their recovery from the COVID 19 pandemic.

 

Cultural Sector Recovery Grants for Organizationsoffer unrestricted grants ranging from $5,000-$75,000 to Massachusetts cultural organizations, collectives, and businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  In addition to the guidelines, please see the program’s FAQ’s.  

Application opens: August 8, 2022 

Information sessions:August 10 or August 11, 2022 

Application deadline: September 28, 2022

Franklin Cultural Festival


One of the final events of summer is the Franklin Cultural Festival. A celebration of Community Unity, it features artisans, live performances, a beer and wine garden, and food trucks!


The Festival happens on the Franklin Town Common and will will feature live festival performances. Be a part of Community Unity ... join the celebration on September 10 from 12 noon to 6 pm. Celebrate Community Unity at the Cultural Festival!

Harvest Festival 


Franklin Downtown Partnership's annual Harvest Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 1 from noon until 5 pm on Main Street in downtown Franklin. The rain date is October 2, just in case.


This community event features booths that highlight Franklin's local businesses and community organizations. Additionally, there are crafters, activities for kids, music, and food. Be a part of the fun! 


FDP members are eligible for a free booth. On August 10, the FDP opens booth registration to non-members. Watch the FDP  website for registration information. Here's the link to their website: FDP
