Franklin Porchfest!

Mark your calendars for Franklin Porchfest 2024. The Franklin Porchfest committee, a subcommittee of the Franklin Cultural District Committee, recently announced Porchfest will be held in Franklin on Saturday, June 1, from 12:00 noon to 6:00pm with a rain date of June 2. This event is made possible with Cultural District Investment Grant Funds from the Mass Cultural Council through the Franklin Cultural District and support from the Town of Franklin. Wednesday, January 31, 6:30pm, Join the SAFE Coalition at the Franklin Public Library for a 20 minute training in the implementation of Narcan and be better prepared to save a life. No Registration Required! During this training the SAFE Coalition will bring in their CPR dummies, discuss what an opioid and an overdose is, learn how to access for a medical emergency like an overdose, and walk through the steps of administering Narcan. The Franklin Art Association welcomes glass sculptor, Phil Pariseau to be featured artist demonstrator. Phil Pariseau is a self-taught glass artist working on Cape Cod and Franklin, MA. Saturday, February 24, 9:30am to 2:30pm, Color Theory Workshop. The Franklin Art Association invites you to a Color Theory workshop on to be held at the Franklin TV Community Room. (Raindate March 2) The workshop will be taught by Christine Blue Lamb Toubeau, a professional painter and longtime color enthusiast. The workshop is limited to 8 people. Each participant will be given paint, color wheel handouts and a 12” x 12” cotton canvas panel. All participants should bring a paint palette at least 14 inches or more (clean and white if possible), a large water can, two medium size brushes along with their lunch. Fee for the workshop is $60 per student for the 5 hour skills teaching.
