10:00am Exploring Risk-Taking Through the Spirituality of Music with Critical Mass at First Universalist Society. Please join us for our annual lay-led, inter-generational music service. Critical Mass is a 9-member band, comprised of FUSF congregants and friends, who cover a wide range of songs and artists from modern pop to classic rock and roll. This year, in keeping with the summer service theme of sharing spiritual practices, Critical Mass will be exploring through their music, what it feels like to take a personal risk, especially when the outcome is uncertain. Singing along, and even dancing, is encouraged!

First Universalist Society in Franklin is a Unitarian Universalist Welcoming Congregation, and is

October 2023 beginning October 2. The 4th Annual Pumpkin Sale will be open all month long from October 2 to 31 at St. John’s Episcopal Church. A huge selection of pumpkins and gourds of all sizes, shapes and colors will fill the front lawn at St. John’s Church. Kids of all ages will have fun picking out their favorites. It’s a good photo opportunity for families.

Family activities will be offered every weekend in the Patch:

  • Music Together for families on Saturday, Oct 7 th at 11am FREE
  • Pet Blessings and outdoor worship on Sunday, Oct 8th at 10am FREE
  • Pony Rides on Saturday, Oct 14 from 1-2pm - $5 per ride

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Bridge of Flowers: A Unique Garden, Co-sponsored by the Franklin Public Library and the Franklin Garden Club. The presentation will be at the Library. Explore Shelburne Falls' Bridge of Flowers with Kirsten Torkelson through her photos and stories! She is a versatile photographer based in Foxboro Massachusetts with a passion for nature photography especially flowers and gardens and has been registered as a Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts speaker since 2017. 6:30 pm Franklin Art Association Monthly Meeting at the Franklin Senior Center. The featured artist is Carlie DeGaetano who will do a watercolor painting demonstration. Carlie resides in Blackstone and spends most days painting or teaching painting at the Medway Senior Center. Her medium of choice is watercolor, but she also paints in acrylic and water soluble oils. She paints in a loose free style with lots of color. We welcome members, friends, students and the public to attend this interesting program. There is no admission fee.
