As the Cultural District transitions to 2023, there continue to be opportunities for theater performances; visual arts through the FAA gallery, the murals off Main Street, the Museum and more; learning opportunities are happening at the college, schools, and businesses and institutions; and music performances are taking place throughout the District. Yes, Arts are Happening in Franklin's Cultural District and Beyond!

After-School Winter Chorus Concert 

Thursday, December 22, the Elementary Glee (grades 3-5) class will showcase pieces from the first 3 months of their after-school year long program. It will take place at 6:00 PM in the Horace Mann Middle School Auditorium, 224 Oak Street. Everyone is welcome.  The Lifelong Music Academy, Lifelong Learning Institute, is a program of the Franklin Public Schools. 67 Degrees Brewing

Mug Painting, Music, and Beer!

  • Thursday, December 22, Mug Painting 5:00 to 8:00 pm at 67 Degrees Brewing. Create a beautiful work of art that you can fill with your favorite 67 Degrees beer. The cost is $20 per mug and Inebriated-Art will supply all the materials you'll need to customize your drinking vessel (beer sold separately). This is a ticketed event. Friday, January 6, Saturday, January, 7 and Sunday, January 8.The Franklin Performing Arts Company will present Sarah DeLappe’s wildly popular play The Wolves at THE BLACK BOX. A girls indoor soccer team warms up. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.

Content Warning: The Wolves is recommended for mature audiences. This Pulitzer Prize finalist for drama features mature themes and adult language including characters in honest discussions about sex, politics, abortion, eating disorders, and death. Saturday, January 7, Collage Quilting, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. You will spend a great deal of time considering value and contrast in an effort to add dimensional aspects to your chosen pattern. This is a great class to learn not only a technique but also a way of looking at how to select fabric and color for the right effect.  Sewing machine not required at this point. Select Emma's for course registration information and fees, under Classes & Events. Grant Opportunities

Grant opportunities continue to be available through the Mass Cultural Council. Check out the Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF). 

CFF Provides Capital Grants, Feasibility & Technical Assistance Grants and Systems Replacement Grants to nonprofit cultural organizations, in recognition of their profound economic impact on communities across Massachusetts. FCD Committee

Franklin's Cultural District Committee (FCDC) engages, promotes, celebrates, and collaborates with Franklin's artists and creatives, as well as organizations, institutions, and businesses. 


The Franklin Cultural District Committee partners with the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Franklin Cultural Council, and the Town of Franklin to promote arts and culture in Franklin.
