Student accomplishments and upcoming performances
In Dance

Congratulations to Emilie Saucier (8th grade) who danced the lead role of “Claire Marie” in the New Orleans School of Ballet’s presentation of The Nutcracker , which was held at the Contemporary Arts Center. Adelle Roubion (2nd grade) also danced in the production. Way to go, girls! 
Several Middle School students performed with ASH dance instructor Carrie Brown in Delta Festival Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker .

Also dancing in Delta’s production were Blythe Bossetta and Nora Henderson (1st graders) and Carlie Henderson (3rd grade). Congratulations to all!
Gigi Thomas (3rd grade) performed in the New Orleans Ballet Theater's production of The Nutcracker, which was held at the Orpheum. Great job!

Sissy Smallpage (4th grade) performed in Ballet Louisiane's production of The Nutcracker , and was featured on WWL's Morning Show as a party child to promote the production.

She then traveled to New York City to attend a one-day class with the Joffrey Ballet. Congratulations!
In Music
Eight ASH students from Lower and Middle School participated in the Romantic Contemporary Piano Festival organized by New Orleans Music Teacher Association. The festival was held at the University of New Orleans. The girls, instructed by ASH music teacher Maja Bahat , worked very hard to prepare their pieces and performed in front of two judges. The students receiving the highest scores were selected to perform the next day in front of an audience.

Congratulations to the following girls: Luisa Nicolosi (5th grade) , Lily Tran (5th grade) , Janisse Medina (5th grade) , Aaliyah Oro (8th grade) , Destiny Dixon (8th grade) , Sophie Uhlig (5th grade) , Jasmine Cook (2nd grade) and Zoe Tran (2nd grade) . We’re proud of you!
Vivian Lorio (Kindergarten) participated in a community outreach event with some of her fellow violin students before Christmas at St. Margaret’s at Mercy. She performed “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” and the group played “Jingle Bells” for the residents. Well done!
Nadya Macquet (6th grade) played the role of “Young Elsa” in the Jefferson Performing Arts Society production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. Great job!

Amélie Ettinger (10th grade) was the accordionist in the Jesuit High School Philelectic Society’s production of the comedy You Can’t Take It With You during the fall. Wonderful!
In Art
Sacred Heart joined with other Catholic schools in the city to particulate in the annual Catholic Schools Week Art Show at Lakeside Mall from January 26 - 31. Sacred Heart's display featured art from Preschool, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School. Congratulations to all!
ASH will be hosting the first annual Network of the Sacred Heart Arts Festival in October 2020. All of the fine arts will be included. Giuliano Ieronimo , Upper School visual arts teacher and festival coordinator, would like to secure volunteers for various committees including logistics, food, transportation, vendors, publicity and entertainment. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact him directly. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Save the Date for Guys and Dolls Musical

Performances of the Sacred Heart Upper School spring musical - Guys and Dolls - will take place on Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m.; Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday March 28 at 3 p.m. The show is open to the public, so bring a friend with you!
What is the Rosary Arts League?

The Rosary Arts League was formed to support and promote the visual and performing arts at the Academy of the Sacred Heart as well as to recognize student participation in art-related events and performances in the community.
