Tribal Cultural Affairs Program (TCAP) Program Coordinator | This position will work with the Tribal Cultural Affairs Program (TCAP) Manager to expand arts opportunities for Washington State Tribes, build the tribal creative economy, and increase awareness of and participation around the unique role of Indigenous arts, artists, and culture.

💵 $4,968 - $6,676 monthly

🌎 Thurston County – Olympia, WA – flexible/hybrid

Art in Public Places Project Manager | This position will manage projects in the Art in Public Places Program and have responsibility for the acquisition of artwork to the State Art Collection. We are hiring two Project Managers through this posting.

💵 $58,000 - $70,000 annually

ArtsWA announces Cheryl Wilcox as Tribal Cultural Affairs Program Manager

ArtsWA is honored to announce that Cheryl Wilcox will manage the new Tribal Cultural Affairs Program, the first of its kind in the country. 


Wilcox, Cowlitz member and Elder, has more than 15 years of experience collaborating with Tribes. She is passionate about supporting Tribes and aims to develop programs that respect and honor cultural values, traditions, and history. Wilcox is active in Cowlitz culture, traditions, ceremonies, and the preservation of ancestral knowledge. 


“There are few things in life more important to me than supporting Tribal arts, culture, history, and traditional ways,” said Wilcox. “This is an exciting program that has the potential of expanding understanding and appreciation for our Washington Tribes’ culture, knowledge, and arts.”

Carina A. del Rosario, Program Specialist, Arts in Education


Carina A. del Rosario coordinates the Washington Youth Arts Leadership program. Carina is also TAT Lab faculty and an independent teaching artist. Her visual art has been presented at the Wing Luke Museum, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, and more. Her awards include the 2020 KCTS’ Golden Apple Award for Innovation in Education and the 2013 International Examiner’s Individual Community Voice Award. Having immigrated from the Philippines as a young child, Carina works towards creating learning spaces where all young people feel a sense of belonging.

In partnership with the Washington State School for the Blind, we are pleased to share images and information about the recently installed LIFTT Program Multisensory Art Collection, curated by Gregg Schlanger.


Located in the residence hall of the Life Skills for Today and Tomorrow program (LIFTT), the collection features 22 artworks by 10 artists.


The collection is tactile, aural, and interactive. It centers accessibility and celebrates the many sensory ways we can experience and enjoy artwork in our daily lives.
