One-By-One ...... One-On-One

We are a front-line personal witness. As an independent mission we present the Gospel primarily in face-to-face situations.  

Jesus said: Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim (disciples), immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.  Matthew 28:19-20 CJB

xxxAs Christians, we are called to be witnesses for Christ Jesus who present a testimony about the truth that we have experienced and heard.

The Role of a Witness

xxxIn Acts 1:8 CJB, Jesus calls his disciples witnesses and calls them to go to the ends of the earth with this good news by the power of the Spirit:

But you will receive power when the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) comes upon you;

you will be my witnesses both in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and in all Y’hudah (Judah) and Shomron (Samaria), indeed to the ends of the earth! Acts 1:8 CJB

xxxWhile I usually do not use photos of people I witness to; I love to share conversations. James is a Jewish man recently returned from Israel checking out the land and possibilities of making Aliyah; moving to Israel and become an Israeli citizen. He returned to Denver still considering the move when we met and he was anxious to talk to me about his experience. Of course, after a while I turned the conversation to Messiah Jesus asking if he had ever heard of him. James said no and I proceeded to explain from the Jewish Scripture the prophesied Messiah redeemer savior of Israel. He was very interested but balked from considering Jesus while still seeing that he may be the Messiah. Pray our hour conversation will not let him rest in unbelief and he will honestly pray to God for discernment.

xxxClay recently asked me what I do for a living. I responded I am a Messianic Jewish Pastor a Believer in Jesus as my Messiah. To my saying this he promptly sharply replied that Jews do not believe so. My response was, does that make him not so? I said further that according to Jewish Scripture, the Tanach (Old Testament) says he is. Pray Clay will consider his own Scripture and not rely on what modern Jewish tradition and rabbis say but seek in honest pray for God's revelation in His Word, the Scriptures! Jeremiah 29:13 CJB

xxxAmir, in the Jewish Denver Community the Menorah House and I reside in, sought me out to talk last week and surprised me by his friendliness. Many times, over the years he was not so and more resistant to conversations, especially about his Jewishness in view of my belief in Jesus as the Jewish Messiah. This day was our longest talk and seemingly honest receipt of my statements about life, yes also in Jesus. I could sense a change in him. Pray for his family and personal walk on earth to soon bear the fruit of salvation in Jesus!

xxxOn Wednesday evenings I am teaching a course Ha-Mashiach - The Messiah of the Hebrew Scriptures using the resource book by Arnold Fruchtenbaum. You may want to check it out, I pray so!

xxxAlmost 29 years ago, God directed us to purchase a home The Menorah House cadi-corner from the most Orthodox, Hassidic Jewish Synagogue in Denver, asking us to be a Light to this overall Jewish community. Hopefully He has been pleased with our witness, but I am sure disappointed also as this has been an amazing, fun but hard assignment for us, especially me.

xxxSince they know we believe Yeshua is the Messiah longed for in their Scripture and Reuben use to attend some of their synagogue events until they asked him to leave because of Yeshua, they, understandably, have not been the friendliness of neighbors.

xxxGod, in His sweet and gracious ways, has opened up many great opportunities over these years to be His Light on our corner and for wonderful conversations about Yeshua! Only Eternity will tell all.

xxxLast week I was having unkind thoughts for the Jewish person parked in front of my side gate blocking my ability to care for my side garden in the way I wanted. This happens a lot! I am sure my thoughts were not too pleasing to God. He spoke to me loud and clear that day as I was about to say something to him, hopefully it would have come out of my mouth in a polite way...? Before I could speak, he approached me, to ask if we had synagogue meetings in our home and I replied we do have congregation services and Bible study. Immediately I repented as I clearly understood God's gracious, loving and gentleness reminding me WHY I live where I do. Glad I had kept my mouth shut! God did what only God can do... He opened up another amazing, beautiful conversation with this young man as he asked a lot of good questions. He was very interested in the scriptures I presented from the Old Testament how God did not want us to miss His Messiah when He came. He had never read any of them and wanted to hear more. Pray for Samuel and for God to continue to interrupt my/our days with these precious conversations!

Our time on earth is getting short and eternity is a very

long time for someone to be wrong about Yeshua/Jesus.

xxxHelp us Jesus to Keep being Salt and Light and Shining for You so others can see YOU through us!
