As We Journey!

My name is Mo (they/them), and I'm the new Family Programs Assistant! It's only my second week, but I've already felt so warmly welcomed into this community. I've loved meeting some of you so far, and I'm excited to keep building relationships with all of you wonderful peoples & families.

A little bit about me: I’m originally from Boston and moved to Burlington in 2023 after graduating from Oberlin College, where I studied Environmental Studies and Africana Studies with a focus in agriculture, food justice, and community sustainability. I care deeply about community organizing in its many forms, as it fuels my vision of a better world and keeps me grounded in hope & our collective humanity.

I've had the privilege of working with learners of all ages and whether I’m teaching, facilitating, mentoring, or—as I am now— working as an early childhood educator, my goal is to always create safe and empowering spaces alive with possibility. Outside of work, I love growing & sharing food, crafting, dancing and being outdoors.

I’m really grateful to be here supporting the important work of our Faith Development program. I’m endlessly inspired by practices of community care (which FUUSB embodies on so many levels) and believe we all have a role in the ecosystem of social change. Please feel free to come say hello, introduce yourself, or ask me anything—I’m still learning the ins and outs of my role, and I’m excited to make space for connection along the way.
