Updates from the Live Well at Home grant

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you! Support to the Greatest Needs fund and a $100,000 Live Well at Home (LWAH) matching grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services allowed the Benedictine Madonna Towers campus to undergo an incredible transformation.

Together, we refreshed and modernized key spaces where residents gather and live every day:

Resident Hallways (Floors 2–11) – fresh carpet, updated lighting, and new paint bring brighter, safer, and more accessible corridors.
Main Dining Room – brand-new flooring, tables, and chairs create a warm, welcoming space for meals and community.

These updates aren’t just about looks—they make life safer, more comfortable, and more vibrant for every resident.

“This project is a wonderful example of what happens when donors and community partners come together,” said Housing Director Kelly Van Esch. “These updates ensure our residents have safe, welcoming spaces to call home for years to come.”

U.S. News Names Madonna Towers a High-Performing Nursing Home

Benedictine Madonna Towers has once again been recognized for outstanding quality—earning a High Performing rating from U.S. News & World Report in its 2026 Best Nursing Homes analysis. This recognition places Madonna Towers among only 96 facilities statewide to earn this distinction.

Madonna Towers received top marks in both:

Short-Term Rehabilitation
Long-Term Care

U.S. News noted that high-performing communities consistently deliver strong staffing levels, robust therapy services, and lower hospitalization rates, demonstrating a culture of safety, excellence, and compassion.

Caring for Scared Spaces

Thanks to generous donor support to our Spiritual Care Fund, the sacristy in our main chapel recently received a meaningful update—new vinyl plank flooring has replaced the worn carpeting. This creates a cleaner and more welcoming space for staff and volunteers who prepare for liturgies and spiritual services.

This is just the first step. In the months ahead, we plan to continue improving the sacristy with updated cabinetry and functional storage to better support the spiritual needs of residents, families, and associates.

Recently, we broadened the former Chapel Fund to become the Spiritual Care Fund—reflecting the full range of spiritual support we provide across our community. From chapel improvements to prayer resources, music, and end-of-life care, your gifts help ensure that every person at Madonna Towers is surrounded by comfort, dignity, and moments of grace.
