Bah Humbug! Making Change

Are you ready for Christmas? We’re still eating Thanksgiving leftovers as the decorations are going up and this weekend was a shopping frenzy. How do we prepare for the Christ who comes to us not only at Christmas, but each and every day? How do we make this a holy time in the midst of all of the business of the season? Join us as we begin the journey towards Christmas with Ebenezer Scrooge, Marley, and a favorite story as we see anew the change the change in Scrooge and the change that Jesus seeks to bring for us. Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.

Rev. Elbert Dulworth

Sunday Worship

10 a.m. in Hickey Hall

Bah Humbug! Making Change

During Advent we will be taking a look at The Redemption of Scrooge written by Matt Rawle who makes connections between the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge and peace, hope, love and joy we proclaim during advent. I hope you take the opportunity to enjoy the musical A Christmas Carol sometime during the season, join a small group to discuss the series, reflect on a traditional carol in a new light or to listen to a carol from a tradition with whom you are not familiar.

Rev. Dr. April Gutierrez

Generosity Campaign Update

As of this past week, we have received 197 estimates of giving totaling $878,327 which has caused us to now surpass where we were at the end of 2022. With a year-end goal of increasing our budget by $200,000, there are still almost 60 estimates of giving that have not yet been turned in from households that shared one last year. If each of these households remained at the same level, that would be almost $125,000 additional for us in 2023. We are getting closer to our goal and you can help make that happen as we continue to transform lives and grow our ministry at St. Paul's. If you have yet to turn in an estimate of giving for 2023, please prayerfully consider what God is inviting you to give as we continue to plant the seeds of faith, hope, and love in lives in our communities and around the world. Remember, "you will always harvest what you plant!"
