All are invited to attend a United Women in Faith spotlight event featuring Johnson County Commissioner Becky Fast, which will be held on Sun. Feb. 8 at 10 am in Hager Hall.
Becky will share with us information about herself, her role as a county commissioner, and issues affecting Johnson County. All are welcome to attend this informative event!

Join Lindsey Lang and pianist Robert Craig for an afternoon concert of Broadway love songs this Valentine’s Day, February 14, at 3 pm in the Sanctuary.
This program will feature classics from The Music Man and Guys and Dolls to contemporary shows like Hadestown and Wicked, and sweet treats will be provided!
This hour-long concert is free and open to the public, but an optional free-will offering will be available with all proceeds going directly to the Asbury Music Ministry.

Join the Second Sunday singers at the 11 am worship on Sunday, February 15! We may have been moved back one week this month because of the snow day Sunday we had a couple of weeks ago, but that's not gonna stop us!

| | Lenten Musical Meditation Begins Monday, February 23 | |
You are invited to a half-hour meditation in the Sanctuary on Mondays during Lent, from 6:00-6:30 pm in the Sanctuary (Feb. 23-Mar. 30).
Each meditation features the reading of scripture, poetry, prose, or prayer, piano performance by Pastor Daekyung Kim of several hymns beautifully arranged by various composers, and a time for meditation in silence.

Beginning February 21, the Great Plains Justice and Mercy Team will be hosting free workshops focusing on resisting Christian nationalism throughout the first half of the year at six different locations across the Great Plains Conference.
The workshop leader will be Rev. Neil Christie, executive director of The Religious Nationalism Project. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
In 2025, the conference passed the resolution “Christian Nationalism: Mercy and Justice,” which rejected the tenets of Christian nationalism and committed to sponsoring workshops “to provide education on understanding, recognizing, and eliminating the tenets of Christian Nationalism from worship and ministry in their congregation.”

Join a 90-minute training from States at the Core that features experienced Chicago community defenders on effectively protecting our neighborhoods from federal enforcement incursions.
This training will share important skills for building neighborhood resilience, documenting ICE activity, and supporting neighbors. In addition to covering the basics of ICE Watch, participants will discuss new analysis on ICE operations, community responses, and safety guidance.

Kansas Interfaith Action is a statewide, multi-faith issue-advocacy organization that “puts faith into action” by educating, engaging and advocating on behalf of people of faith and the public regarding critical social, economic, and climate justice issues.

With the frigid weather we're having this winter, Cross-Lines is collecting some cold weather items for many enduring the weather outdoors.
Here are some items that they need:
• Thick/insulated socks, gloves, and hats
• Hand and foot warmers
• Mylar survival blankets
• Cold-weather kits that include tissue packs and lip balm
If you have items you would like to donate, please drop them in the blue barrel in the Welcome Center, and we’ll take them to Cross-Lines. Thank you so much!

The Asbury Food Pantry's "Food of the Month" for February is dried beans. Beans are an easy, delicious addition to any meal that add both fiber and protein to our diets, and it's economical, too!
Help our food pantry guests get the hearty meals they need this winter by placing your donations on the table in the Welcome Center or on the cart by the main entrance.

The Asbury Endowment Committee is currently accepting 2026 First Quarter ministry grant applications through March 1.
Asbury endowed funds are underwriting grants of up to $1000. Individuals, committees, and small groups are encouraged to use these grants to create, enhance, or sustain mission and ministries within the Asbury faith community.
Application deadline for the first quarter is March 1. Application and instructions can be found by clicking here.

Put Your House in Order with the help of the Kansas Methodist Foundation! Putting Your House in Order is a three-part series that covers Estate Planning, Legacy Giving, and Memorial Planning.
Each session provides useful information and needed resources to guide you in putting your plans in place. You will learn about wills versus trusts, durable powers of attorney, advanced health care directives, legacy giving, endowments, how to document important personal and family information, and other items to assist your successors.
Options to participate include:

Online Cohorts – Join other learners for three, one-hour sessions via Zoom. Content will be presented live and you can engage in group dialogue. Materials are available for download or in hard copy versions upon request. 11 am: The Nursery is open for children aged infant through 5-years-old (if they haven’t started Kindergarten yet). Children who have started Kindergarten are encouraged to join Children's Church.

Kids' Hour is our Sunday school for kids, and is a great way for them to make friends and build community while learning Bible stories.
This week is a games rotation, featuring the story of Jonah and the Big Fish. Kids (PreK-5th grade) are invited to join the fun of exploring the story of Jonah!

GodSquad: July 27-31 (4th-6th grade). GodSquad is our annual service week for those in 4th - 6th grade. We will serve at a variety of local nonprofits throughout the week. Participants will meet at the church at 9 am each day and head to the service sites, and will return to the church between 1pm & 2pm daily. Registration opens in March.

| | High School Youth Service Trip to Spirit Lake Ministries in North Dakota: May 30 - June 6, 2026 | | |
Youth currently in 8th -12th grade are invited to spend the week of May 30 - June 6, 2026 working with Spirit Lake Ministries near Tokio, North Dakota. Spirit Lake Ministry Center (SLMC) is a year-round ministry site which works with, and in support of, the peoples of the Spirit Lake Nation. They provide ministry and fellowship opportunities throughout the year for adults, youth, children, and persons with disabilities.
We have 25 spots available. While we always welcome friends, first priority will be given to youth involved at Asbury. If you have a friend who is interested in attending our service trip, or if you have any questions, please contact our Director of Family Ministries, Heather Jackson, at heatherj@visitasbury.org.
