Asbury Pride Concert:

Join Pastor Kim and our Asbury Worship Team and Chancel Choir for a Pride Concert on Saturday, June 13 at 3:30 pm in the Sanctuary!
We will be performing songs that celebrate a spirit of welcomeness and inclusivity in honor of Pride Month. This concert is FREE and open to the public! A small reception will follow.

Jesus’ first miracle at Cana was turning water into wine, Psalm 104 proclaims God produces ‘wine that gladdens human hearts,’ and the prophet Isaiah declares ‘On this mountain, the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine— the best of meats and the finest of wines.’
When enjoyed in moderation, wine can be a reminder of God's abundance and joyful fellowship. On Saturday, June 20, join Pastor Jeff as he takes the Asbury bus and takes 14 other Asbury friends on a tour of Serendipity Winery in Stilwell, Kansas. (If time allows, we will also take a stop by Stone Pillar Vineyard in De Soto, KS.)

| | Summer Banned Book Reading Club | |
This summer, take time to read three books (two contemporary young adult novels/one classic) that have been challenged or banned in school and public libraries across the country. Each month, Pastor Jeff will provide a list of questions and other self-guided activities to help further the conversation regarding the importance of reading and having access to works that help us better understand the world around us through empathy, compassion, and grace.
On the evening of Monday, September 14, we will have a Banned-Book-A-Palooza! We'll gather and discuss our summer reads and brainstorm ways we can continue educating ourselves and the community around us regarding the importance of a free and open society. Questions? | | Youth Service Trips & Pilgrimages Fundraiser: 144 Envelopes | | |
There's a big board with 144 envelopes attached to it on the wall by the west entrance of the Sanctuary, representing monetary amounts from $1-$144 ($10,441 in all). If all the envelopes are selected, returned, and donations match the amount on each envelope, we will meet our fundraising goals for both the service trips, along with some money to put toward the 2027 Pilgrimages!
Here's how the fundraiser works:
• You decide the amount you would like to give to support the youth service trips and Leadership Lab Pilgrimages to Turkey to follow Paul's travels.
• Select the corresponding envelope(s). For example, if you want to give $50 select envelope #50, or if 50 is no longer available, select envelopes that equal $50.
• Fill out the little card inside the envelope.
• Return the card, your donation, and the envelope to the church. It can be given to Phyllis at the front desk or placed in the offering plate or drop box outside of the finance office.

You will also find blank envelopes on the counter next to the big board where you can make a donation, if the envelopes left on the board do not reflect the amount you would like to give. Or you may give any amount via EasyTithe. If you give online, please select "Youth Missions Trips" from the drop-down menu.

| | | June "Food of the Month" for the Asbury Food Pantry: Spaghetti and Pasta Sauce | | Help Serve Lunch at Lazarus Ministries! | |
We're looking for eight people to help serve lunch or assist in the Lazarus Boutique on Saturday, June 13 from 9:30 am - 1 pm at Lazarus Ministries KC (Linwood United Church, 3151 Olive, KCMO, 64109). Come out and help with a wonderful mission opportunity!
Lunches are served 'restaurant style,' so kitchen volunteers can assist with hosting, greeting, plating, and/or serving. Lazarus Boutique volunteers serve as personal shoppers to guests, assisting people one on one in finding clothing, hygiene items, linens, or other household goods they may need.

Asbury United Women in Faith is sponsoring a collection of NEW and GENTLY USED children's clothes (sizes Preemie - 4T) to help support our friends and neighbors served at The Hub Argentine. They would also appreciate donations of diapers of any size.

Excited for the upcoming World Cup? As we prepare to welcome Argentina's national soccer team to Kansas City, our next destination for the Asbury Travel More Project is—you guessed it—Argentina! For those new to the project, this is a wonderful opportunity to recognize and appreciate the diverse cultures and faiths of our neighbors here in the KC area and beyond. To date, our travels have taken us to the Middle East, India, Korea, Africa, Japan, Spain, Alaska, Greece, and Taiwan, as well as exploring Native American history and cultures and the Pride community. This June, join us as we dive into the vibrant culture of Argentina!

Ensemble Ibérica Kicking Off (A Musical Tour of Algeria, Argentina, England, and the Netherlands) - Sunday, June 21 at 2:00 pm at the Polsky Theater in the Midwest Trust Center (12345 College Blvd. Overland Park, Kansas 66210). FREE event; no reservations required.

KMF is the Kansas Methodist Foundation. Chartered in 1964 for the general purpose of receiving gifts, donations and bequests to be used for the furtherance of religious, charitable, and educational activities of the Methodist Churches and Missions.
The Foundation is a qualified public charity under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. We also act as investment managers and offer a wide variety of programs and investment services. The work of the Foundation is directed by a 21-member Board of Trustees.

| | Family Ministries Days at the K: Tuesday, June 30 and Tuesday, August 4 | | |
We have about 10 tickets remaining for our June 30 Day at the K and around 20 tickets remaining for our August 4 Day at the K (also Dollar Dog Night). Both games start at 6:20 pm and tickets cost $29 each.
If you are wanting tickets to a game, please contact Heather Jackson, Director of Family Ministries, ASAP (HeatherJ@visitasbury.org), and let her know which game you would like to attend, so that we do not exceed our allotted tickets. Payment can be made through the church office or online via Easy Tithe (select "Other Fund" from the drop-down menu and type "Royals tickets" in the notes line). Tickets will be distributed electronically via the Ballpark app closer to game day.
We will carpool from the church and take both Asbury buses to both games. Depending on how the numbers come out, we might need a few extra drivers. The tickets are available to youth, kids (accompanied by an adult), their families and friends.

9 am: The nursery is open for children who need it, up to 3rd grade.
11 am: The Nursery is open for children aged infant through 5-years-old (if they haven’t started Kindergarten yet). Children who have started Kindergarten are encouraged to join Children's Church.

Kids PreK - 3rd grade are welcome to join us for Children's Church after the Children's Moment at the 11 am service in the kids' wing (3rd floor east).
We might make a craft, play a game, watch a movie, or learn a new song and dance. No matter the activity, kids will have fun learning and growing together!

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure with Snowball Mountain Challenge VBS from 6 - 7:30 pm on June 14-18. Kids (potty-trained 3-year-olds through 4th grade) become Challengers, gearing up for frosty games, snowy surprises, and hands-on lessons about resilience and faith. Your kids will be guided daily by our wonderful volunteers and the lovable Ollie the Arctic Seal puppet, who is reporting on the frosty games.
